Under fire boss Maurizo Sarri has said that winning matches are the only way to save him from getting sacked.

“I don’t agree for the last match because we played a good game, especially in the first half. We played well.”

“I know very well that, when we are losing, I have to put a striker on the pitch. When we are winning, I have to put a defender on the pitch. But I want to see football in another way.In the last match [against United] we played better, better and better, especially in the first half.”

“We have to solve a big problem because we stayed in the other half for 75 minutes out of 90 and were not able to score. They only played 15 or 16 balls into our box and scored two goals. So we have to solve this problem: a problem of aggression and determination in both boxes.” Sarri then insisted he is not too worried about losing the support of the fans at Stanford Bridge.

“It’s very easy [to get the fans back on the side]: we need to win three or four matches in a row. It’s the only solution. I can understand very well the frustration of our fans because they are used to winning. And now we are in trouble so I can understand it very well”

“But there isn’t another way. We have only to have good performances and good results. “Of course, in this moment, it’s very difficult to think that we are able to win three or four.”

Ander Herrera has opened up on his team’s win against Chelsea in the FA Cup round of 16.

The Red Devils have not been able to get the better of Chelsea in recent cup competitions and the last time they won against the Blues in a cup competition was back in 2010-11. However, their long hoodoo was undone in 2019 as Chelsea face the terror of the Sarri reign.

Credit though must not be taken away from Manchester United, who themselves have come a long way since the departure of Jose Mourinho and look a rejuvenated side under their new boss OLe Gunnar Solskjaer.

Herrera, was one of the goal scorers on the night and has become a key figure in the Ole regime at Old Trafford. This is what he had to say.

“They have a fantastic team. We had to fight until the end. We knew how to play them. I played today a more offensive role because we knew they struggle in that side of the pitch. But I think fantastic game. When you play with these kind of players you can make that type of run and you know you’re going to get the ball.”

According to reports, Chelsea have identified club legend Frank Lampard and former Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane as replacements for Maurizio Sarri.

Chelsea’s performances under Sarri have dipped considerably and Sarri’s job is currently hanging in the balance.

The only way Sarri might stand a chance of saving his job is by guiding Chelsea to victory in Sunday’s EFL Cup final against Manchester City.

However, Chelsea are already looking at replacements for Sarri and have identified Zinedine Zidane and Frank Lampard as possible replacements. If the club sacks Sarri now, then assistant manager Gianfranco Zola will be interim manager till the end of the season.

Frank Lampard became Derby County’s manager in May last year and has done pretty well with the club so far. Derby County are currently 7th in the Championship table and have a fair chance of qualifying for the Championship playoffs. However, Lampard has just begun his managerial career so Chelsea might be interested in getting someone more experienced.

That’s where Zinedine Zidane comes in. Zidane guided Real to a hat-trick of Champions League titles during his managerial spell at the Bernabeu. Hence, he can be a very good fit at Chelsea. Reports stated that Zidane had some demands from Chelsea. They were, to keep Eden Hazard and give Zidane a transfer budget of £200 million.

Reports from Sky Sports claim that Chelsea are considering Gianfranco Zola for the interim manager position should they decide to sack Maurizio Sarri in the coming weeks.

The former Blues player has been assisting Sarri’s in the team’s first-team activities since the beginning of the 2018/19 campaign. With Chelsea losing 3 of their past 4 games, 2 of them against both the Manchester clubs, Zola has noticed his compatriot get heavily criticised for his managerial decisions.

Sky sources: Chelsea also considering making assistant manager Gianfranco Zola caretaker boss until the end of the season if they decide to part company with Maurizio Sarri.

Bookmakers have already released favourable odds of Sarri facing the axe before the end of the season. This could potentially open up a spot for Zola to take over as a caretaker boss until a permanent figure gets appointed.

Plenty of names have been linked with the South West London club, the most eye-catching ones being Zinedine Zidane and Laurent Blanc. Chelsea might be looking to adopt Manchester United’s model of appointing one of their former players temporarily before taking on a giant contract of yet another prestigious name.

The Red Devils have found plenty of success upon handing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer the head coaching position. Zola, now 52 has previously managed West Ham United, the Italy U21s, Watford, Cagliari and even Birmingham City, to name a few.

He might not have an impressive resume as a manager but he certainly is not inexperienced.

According to reports, Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri will be sacked if Chelsea lose Sunday’s Carabao Cup final to Manchester City.

Chelsea’s performances have suffered a massive dip lately as they have now fallen to 6th place in the Premier League table. Their FA Cup hopes have also ended after their defeat to Manchester United at Stamford Bridge.

These recent results have put Maurizio Sarri’s job in jeopardy and recent reports claim that Chelsea will fire Sarri if the club loses Sunday’s Carabao Cup Final.

Chelsea haven’t won the League Cup since the 2014-15 season and it won’t be easy this time either as their opponents in the final is none other than Manchester City who thrashed them 6-0 not long back.

The Carabao Cup final could be a perfect make or break match for Chelsea and Maurizio Sarri. Provided Chelsea win, Sarri’s job will surely be safe for a while at least because more than winning a trophy, Chelsea shall have beaten Manchester City.

France national team coach Didier Deschamps thinks that N’Golo Kante playing out of position at Chelsea won’t affect his performances with the national team. Chelsea coach Maurizio Sarri is using Kante in a more attacking role as opposed to his regular holding midfielder role.

Sarri has received plenty of criticism for using Kante out of his preferred position while Kante himself has struggled to produce his finest performances.

However, Deschamps has said that he intends on using Kante in his preferred position. When asked if he was worried by Kante’s position at Chelsea, the Frenchman said, “No, it happens with other players. I saw that his coach preferred to see him in a more offensive position because he has a player, Jorginho, who plays in this position a little lower.

N’Golo Kante is able to play in several positions. He is a modern player, a modern midfielder. When he is with me in the French national team, he has a great importance in this lower position. He is very important defensively and in the organisation of the game.Each coach has his formation, a different vision but I’m not worried about that. Juan Mata insists Manchester United had the perfect reaction to their defeat in the Champions League against Paris Saint Germain as they defeated Chelsea 2-0 in the FA Cup .

United succumbed to their first loss under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer but bounced back brilliantly in the last match as Chelsea were a no match for him. Two quality headers from Ander Herrera and Paul Pogba were enough as United have setup a quarter final date with Wolves.

United got the required goals in the first half but Chelsea pressed with more intent in the second half and dominated possessions. But despite their dominance, they couldn’t find a gap in the United backline and failed to find the back of the net.

Mata who got his recognition during his time his Chelsea started the match but didn’t have much impact before coming off. Mata said, “It was the perfect reaction to our defeat against Paris Saint-Germain,

The job of a manager is an uncertain one. And perhaps, the cruelest of them all is taking over the hot seat at Stamford Bridge. Ask the last 12 managers who came and went from Chelsea in the last 10 years.

The Blues crashed out of the FA Cup following a harrowing 2-0 defeat at the hands of Manchester United. Chelsea have very little time to mourn for their loss as they are about to enter a crucial phase of their campaign starting with their midweek match against Malmo.

Maurizio Sarri’s side have a two crucial away goal advantage and are expected to go through to the next round. They will then travel to Wembley for their quest of a first silverware under Maurizio Sarri as they take on Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday.

The hectic scheduled ends with a London derby as Tottenham Hotspur will look to end Chelsea’s reign in London.
