Both Ben Chilwell and Reece James are out injured currently.

The Chelsea defenders will be out of action for an extended period of time.

Chilwell will be out for the remainder of the season with his knee ligament injury whereas Reece James will be out for a while after tearing his hamstring back in December.

James scored four goals and provided five assists in his 16 Premier League appearances this season.

On the other hand, Chilwell himself scored three goals and registered one assist in his six Premier League appearances this season.

Former Villa captain Gabriel Agbonlahor believes the absence of this Chelsea duo is hugely felt by Tuchel and his squad.

“When I look at Chelsea, I look at how much they miss Reece James and Ben Chilwell,” Agbonlahor told talkSPORT.

“You’ve got quality players to fill in like [Marcos] Alonso and [Cesar] Azpilicueta, but they’re not as good.

“How many goals has [Romelu] Lukaku scored from crosses from Chilwell and James?

“And defensively, Chilwell and James are better than Azpilicueta and Alonso.”

  1. Chelsea have started passing the ball back to the keeper all the time. They can’t score goals playing at the back, they need to take more chances and play the ball upfield more. Chelsea are too predictable the way they play. How can we go from top of the league down to 3rd or 4th in seven weeks.
