Chelsea have been hit with a transfer ban and Paul Merson believes that former Chelsea have three players in the club they can turn to.

“I mean they’ll need their players, they won’t be able to just sell their players and take a chance on these youngsters,” Merson told Sky Sports. “But they need to come in the team every now and then, they need more game time, there’s no doubt about that.”

“But they’re still going to need a squad Chelsea and I don’t think they’ll sell anybody. I think it’s worrying. But, at the same time, let’s give the kids… I mean the lads you’ve just talked about are all good players and they’ve all got potential to be very, very good so you never know, until you give them a run in the team.”

“Loftus-Cheek, I’m a Chelsea fan, he’s never let Chelsea down. You know Hudson-Odoi seems to get better every week he plays. And Tammy Abraham is scoring goals at a big football club at Aston Villa. So it wouldn’t be any nerves for him if he came back and played for Chelsea.”

“It’s not like he’s playing in front of 6-7,000 people every week in League Two. He’s playing for a massive club who you’re playing under pressure for for Aston Villa. For me, it wouldn’t hurt for them to come back.”

According to reports from the Sun, Zidane is unfazed by the transfer ban that FIFA has slapped Chelsea with and he will have £200 million to spend during the summer transfer window if he is appointed as the club’s manager.

Chelsea’s recent defeats to Bournemouth and Manchester City has kept Maurizio Sarri’s job in jeopardy. Several reports claim that Zidane is a favorite to replace Sarri next season.

Earlier, reports claimed that Zidane had two demands from Chelsea if he were to become manager. Firstly, the club had to keep Eden Hazard. Secondly, he wanted £200 million to spend during the transfer window.

Yesterday, FIFA imposed a two-year transfer ban on Chelsea after finding them guilty of breaching regulations regarding the international transfers of players under the age of 18.

However, Chelsea released a statement that they will appeal this ban soon. Despite the ban, Zidane is still eager to join Chelsea and the club is confident of getting to spend this summer.

Chelsea eye England assistant manager as potential replacement for Sarri

0

According to reports from the Telegraph, Chelsea are thinking of Steve Holland as an option to replace Maurizio Sarri provided the latter receives the sack.

Chelsea’s recent defeats to Bournemouth, Manchester City and Manchester United have put Sarri’s job in jeopardy. The club is reportedly already looking for replacements.

Steve Holland is another candidate who Chelsea have lined up as a potential replacement for Sarri. Holland had a very short playing career which he ended at the age of 21 because he wanted to enter coaching.

Holland has been in coaching since 2007. He began his managerial career at Crewe Alexandra in 2007 before becoming the manager of Chelsea’s Reserve team in 2009. After managing the reserves for two years, Holland became the assistant manager of Chelsea in 2011 and held that position till 2017. He was also Chelsea’s caretaker manager for one match in 2015.

Holland managed England’s U21 team from 2013-2017. In 2016, Holland became an assistant manager under Gareth Southgate and has held that position ever since.

Provided Chelsea do sack Sarri, then they will appoint Holland only as interim manager till the end of the season. Given that he has been at Chelsea for a while, Holland seems to be a reasonable replacement for Sarri.

We will get a clearer picture regarding Sarri’s future after tomorrow’s Carabao Cup final against Manchester City at Wembley.

Sarri urges Chelsea to be patient with him

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri wants the club to be patient with him as Manchester City were with Pep Guardiola. When Pep Guardiola left Bayern Munich to become Manchester City manager, he did not win any trophies in his first season. However, the club kept him and now Guardiola has transformed Manchester City into one of the most formidable teams in the world.

However, Sarri is already under-fire after Chelsea’s recent defeats to Bournemouth, Manchester City and Manchester United. His job is currently hanging in the balance with Chelsea reportedly already lining up replacements.

When asked why his job is in jeopardy while Guardiola was given time, Sarri responded, “Because he was lucky. I don’t know. You have to ask the club.

You have to ask both, Manchester City and Chelsea. But I don’t know if I am under pressure from my club or from you. I don’t know at the moment. I think that, if you choose Guardiola, you have to wait because the club knows very well that Guardiola needs time.

It’s not really very easy for an English team to play that kind of football, so it’s normal.

I am used to arriving at a new team from below. I started at a very low level and, season by season, I arrived here.

Of course, in every season, I was the coach who arrived from below. So for me it’s normal. I’m used to this situation.”

Chelsea Dealt A Major Blow As FIFA Impose Transfer Ban

Chelsea Dealt A Major Blow As FIFA Impose Transfer Ban

Chelsea have been dealt a major blow as FIFA have found irregularities regarding their transfer dealings involving player under the age of 18.

Football’s governing body was investigating this particular matter and has found the West London club guilty of breaching a number of FIFA regulations. They have now been barred from registering any players in the next two transfer windows effective immediately.

The decision came amidst uncertainty over manager Maurizio Sarri‘s future. The Blues were expected to invest heavily in the summer in an overhauling process but now have to cope up with their current crop of players.

Sarri says what Chelsea must do to keep Hudson-Odoi

0

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri feels that the club must sell some of their wingers to keep teenager Callum Hudson-Odoi at the club.

A lot has been said regarding the winger’s future at the club. Earlier, it seemed like Hudson-Odoi would join Bayern Munich after he put in a transfer request. However, Chelsea rejected his request.

Hudson-Odoi is not happy with his limited playing time at Chelsea and thus, wants to leave the club. However, Chelsea want to keep the teenager as he is a very talented footballer and can be useful in the longer run.

However, Chelsea have some quality wingers already and thus, Hudson-Odoi is unable to find adequate playing time.

Hudson-Odoi scored a goal in last night’s win over  Malmo FF.  Following the match, Sarri praised his performance.

When asked what Hudson-Odoi needed to do to get a Premier League start, the Italian responded, “You need to understand that, in the same position, we have Pedro, Willian and Hazard, so it’s not easy for a young player to play with the consistency with his team-mates.

I want to remind you that Callum, with this one, played 14 matches. There isn’t in England another 18-year-old player with 14 matches in the first-team. So I think that we are using him in the right way at the moment.

Of course, the 20 matches this season will be 30 matches in the next, and 40 in two years. Also, I think that the club has to decide. If I am at the club and I want Callum on the club consistently, I have to sell another winger. Otherwise the manager is in trouble.”

Chelsea next play Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley on Sunday.

Sarri says Chelsea’s season is better than Arsenal’s

0

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri believes that Chelsea have had a better season than Arsenal’s so far. Arsenal and Chelsea are currently 5th and 6th in the Premier League table. Both teams have equal points and goal-difference but Arsenal are ahead by virtue of more goals scored. In the Premier League, Chelsea beat Arsenal 3-2 at Stamford Bridge while Arsenal beat Chelsea 2-0 at the Emirates.

Both sides confirmed their spot in the last 16 of the Europa League by winning their respective home games 3-0. Arsenal defeated BATE while Chelsea beat Malmo FF.

Chelsea’s recent results have been quite disappointing, particularly their defeats to Bournemouth, Manchester City and Manchester United.

Sarri has questioned why his side get so much criticism when they have the same number of league points as Arsenal. The former Napoli manager said, “I keep hearing people praise Arsenal’s season, but they are not in the EFL Cup final, they have the same points as us in the Premier League and reached the last 16 of the Europa League just like us. I don’t understand why people act as if our season is so negative and Arsenal’s is impressive.

It’s true there have been many ups and downs, including some deep lows, but considering it’s my first season in a new league and environment, I think that’s acceptable. I did take over a team that finished fifth, not one that won the championship.”

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has defended midfielder Jorginho who was booed by Chelsea fans during last night’s Europa League fixture against Malmo FF at Stamford Bridge.

Jorginho came on as a substitute for Ross Barkley in the 76th minute. This was only two minutes after Barkley doubled Chelsea’s lead.

While he was entering the pitch, Chelsea fans booed him. Jorginho has been on the receiving end of a plethora of criticism lately and many have called for his dropping from the squad.

However, Sarri defended the Italy international following the match, saying that Chelsea needed Jorginho in the match. The former Napoli manager said, “I think that in the first 30 minutes we understood why Jorginho is very important for our team. We were in trouble to exit from our half with the pressing.

With Jorginho, it is easier, I think. I would hope that our fans would be able to understand that Jorginho for us is really a very important player.”

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has dismissed reports linking him to Roma. In the past few days, there have been a number of talks regarding Maurizio Sarri’s future at Chelsea. Some reports state that Chelsea are already looking for replacements.

Recent reports stated that Sarri could become the manager of Serie A club AS Roma.

However, the Chelsea manager rubbished such reports. Following Chelsea’s 3-0  win over Malmo FF last night, when asked if he was in contact with Roma, Sarri replied, “Of course no, I have a contract with Chelsea for next season so it is impossible.”

After sealing a berth in the last 16 of the Europa League, Chelsea now have two very tough matches ahead. They play Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday before playing Tottenham on Wednesday.

About the Carabao Cup Final, Sarri said, “It’s very easy that City is in our minds. We played two weeks ago and now we can try to solve this problem.”
