Chelsea Have Made An Appeal To FIFA Regarding Their Transfer Ban

Chelsea have appealed to FIFA against their transfer ban, the football’s governing body has confirmed.

The West London giants cannot make any transfer dealings in the next two transfer windows after FIFA found them guilty of breaching a number of regulations regarding transfers related to players aged under 18.

The Premier League outfit had planned to overhaul their squad in the summer but in the current scenario, they might have to take help of their loan contingency.

Earlier the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona completed signings during the appeal process but a number of reports suggested Chelsea would not have that privilege.

In an official statement, FIFA said, “there is no exact timetable” for Chelsea’s case, and the appeal panel chairman must decide on freezing the punishment.”

Chelsea had hoped to delay the proceedings by making an appeal but they are unlikely to be exempted. The ongoing form has compelled the club to make changes in the summer.

If the club fails to break into the top four Sarri could have to make way for a new manager. Zinedine Zidane has been linked heavily in the last couple of weeks but the French man is yet to be approached officially.

Sarri says where he wants Chelsea to finish in the Premier League

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has said that he is targeting a top-four finish with Chelsea in the Premier League this season.

Chelsea are currently 6th in the league table. However, they have played one match less than Arsenal and Manchester United due to the postponing of their match against Brighton and Hove Albion. Hence, Chelsea have a pretty good chance of finishing in the top four of the Premier League this season.

Speaking after Chelsea’s win over Fulham, Sarri said, “I will be very happy if we finish in the top four. I know the target of my club is to return to the Champions League. I was lucky in Naples because we went to the Champions League three times in a row for the first time in the history of the club. I would like very much to do the same for this club.

I hope Tottenham will be involved [in the top-four battle]. In that case there are two spots for four teams, which is better than one for three! We will see. I understand very well in England it’s very difficult to be in the top four. It’s very competitive.

And not only the Premier League. You have to play in the FA Cup, the League Cup. Every match is very difficult. In the League Cup we played against Liverpool, twice against Tottenham, the final against City. Every match is very difficult, mentally very expensive, and you risk arriving at this moment of the season very tired, more mentally than physically.”

Chelsea next play Dynamo Kyiv on Thursday.

Chelsea Planning For The Future With Maurizio Sarri

AC Milan Eyeing Maurizio Sarri To Replace Gennaro Gattuso

Chelsea reportedly are already planning for the next season with Maurizio Sarri as their head coach.

The Italian manager was expected to be sacked by now after various reports came out stating the turmoil that was building up within the Blues ranks.

With heavy defeats to Bournemouth and Manchester City, it seemed like the 60-year-old’s career at London was already over within his first season in charge.

However, the manager has shown an ability to adapt and change things around when the odds are against his favour. Chelsea came back with an inspiring performance against Pep Guardiola’s men in the Carabo Cup final despite losing to them on penalties. Sarri also oversaw a tactically changed side beat Tottenham Hotspur by 2 goals to nil in the next week.

Now, the South West London team is only 2 points behind the 4th spot of the Premier League with a game in hand.

When asked about the past rumours of him getting fired from the managerial seat, Sarri said, “I feel the same as before, but happier because the results are positive. When everyone talked about my dismissal, I was talking with the club to plan the team for next season, so I was always relaxed.”

Antonio Rudiger who is a starter under Sarri also added, “I think everyone has adapted to new things – also the coach. You saw the way we played against Tottenham and Manchester City. It was different to the way we played in the first three months. Everyone needs to adapt, everyone needs to learn and it is good that it has happened in this moment.”

Former Arsenal Player Believes Chelsea Should Replace Maurizio Sarri With Zinedine Zidane

Former Arsenal player Robert Pires feels Zinedine Zidane would be the perfect candidate if Chelsea are to replace Maurizio Sarri.

The Italian manager had a near to perfect start after being appointed as the Chelsea manager at the start of the season but things have changed in the last few months.

From being in the Premier League title hunt the Blues have slipped out of the top four off late. Sarri’s job was on the line following a number of losses and after the 6-0 thrashing at the hands of Manchester City.

But the Italian has managed to heal the damage to some extent with three wins in the last four matches in all competitions. Zidane has been linked with the Chelsea job but it is very unlikely to take up the job as of now.

Pires said, “It’s a very strange situation with Chelsea and how they treat their managers.

“Sarri is a very good manager and he performed very well with Napoli, but it’s hard to see him at the club next season. There appears to be a lot of player power at Chelsea that he is struggling to overcome like many have before him.

“I think Zidane would be a very good appointment at Chelsea. He would demand respect from the Chelsea players and control the dressing room as a result of everything he has achieved both on the pitch as a player and on the bench as a manager.

“He’s a winner and a warrior. He’s had great success in the Champions League which is attractive to the Chelsea owner. It would be very good news for the Premier League if Zidane moved to England.”

Chelsea Defender Insists Maurizio Sarri Has Adapted To The English Conditions After Manchester City Thrashing

Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger has insisted manager Maurizio Sarri has adapted to the English conditions following their 6-0 hammering at the hand of Manchester City.

Chelsea suffered humiliation as Pep Guardiola’s side pumped in six goals past a hapless Kepa Arizzabalaga. The Blues had an underwhelming few weeks as a string of losses had put questions over Sarri’s imminent future.

But the Italian manager has managed to steady the ship with wins against Tottenham Hotspur and Fulham while they also advanced to the Europa League group of 16.

Having slipped to the sixth position the Blues are facing an enormous task in their battle to the top four but they do have a match in hand which could be a massive boost for them.

Rudiger said, “He learned from that game against Manchester City.

There we went high, we went to press, we wanted to win the ball and everyone knows what happened.

“In life, you need to adapt to things. This league is different to Italy; you have to adjust a bit — I think everyone has adapted to new things, also the coach.

“You saw the way we played against Tottenham and Manchester City. It was different to the way we played in the first three months. Everyone needs to adapt, everyone needs to learn and it is good that it has happened in this moment.”

Chelsea superstar Eden Hazard has said that he is enjoying the “war” to reach the top four in the Premier League among the London clubs Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United. Speaking to the media after the match, the Belgian skipper said, “We talked together in the dressing room about Arsenal-Tottenham. Both lost two points. Top four is a hard war, because we’re not only four teams, we’re six teams. Now we have 11 games to play till the end of the season. We’ll try to take the maximum points.”

In his take on the last match against Fulham, Hazard said, “The performance was great and we took three points.”

He also emphasized on the recent form of his teammates, especially Kepa Arrizabalaga and Jorginho, both of whom have been criticized for different in the recent time. Speaking about Kepa, Hazard said, “The week was not so easy for him, but he’s a great goalkeeper and he’s a great guy.”

Regarding Jorginho, who has been taking the stick from the Chelsea supporters due to his lacklustre performances, the Chelsea talisman said, “We need this kind of player.” He also insisted that the Italian midfielder has been “doing very well” and “gives tempo to the game”.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek has revealed Kepa Arrizabalaga’s apology has been accepted by the Chelsea players.

Kepa shocked the football world when he defied Maurizio Sarri’s orders during the Carabao Cup final defeat over Manchester City. The Italian manager decided to bring in Willy Caballero as he noticed the Chelsea number one struggling with an injury.

But despite repeated attempts, Kepa refused to come out and went on to play the whole match. This action drew massive ire from both the supporters and the club authority.

The Blues hierarchy fined him a week’s wage and also the Spanish keeper offered an unconditional apology. He was dropped subsequently from the Tottenham Hotspur game but returned to the lineup in the 2-1 win against Fulham.

Loftus-Cheek said, “The boss obviously wanted to show he demands respect from his players and he obviously put in Willy [Caballero] for the Tottenham game,

“Kepa was honest with us and he apologised to all of us the day after the final and we all accepted that apology.

“I think there was a misunderstanding involved in it but he apologised to us and we accepted it. I think it’s very important to move on quickly from that.”

Chelsea talisman Eden hazard praised goalkeeper Kepa following his performance against Fulham yesterday. Fulham gave Chelsea a hard time but Kepa was always up to the task when tested.

Chelsea won 2-1 at Craven Cottage thanks to goals from Higuain and Jorginho.

Following the match, Hazard said, ” I think we did well. The game was not so easy but in the end, we won the three points. The manager told us to start with a bit of momentum. We won the last game against Tottenham so today, it was another Derby and we did well. At the end, we have three more points and we just want to keep playing like that.

In the first half, we controlled quite well , we scored two goals. The second one was a bit difficult because the rate was different and it put more impact into the game. But at the end, we did well. We just defended together, Kepa made some saves and yes, I think we deserved to win.”

About Kepa’s performance, the Belgium international said, “The week was not so easy for him but he’s a great goalkeeper, he’s a great guy so he knows he has to work. And he knows he’s playing for Chelsea so when you are playing for Chelsea, when you are on the pitch, you need to give everything and today, he showed that he’s a great goalkeeper and he can be one of the best goalkeepers in the world.”

Hazard also had words of praise for Jorginho. The 28-year old said,”Since the beginning of the season, people ask him to score goals and make passes. He’s doint very well, you know. He’s giving tempo to the game. He scored a great goal but the way he is thinking football, the way he is passing the ball, he is very important to the team.”

Chelsea next play Dynamo Kyiv on Thursday.

Jose Mourinho Backs Maurizio Sarri To Succeed At Chelsea

Jose Mourinho Backs Maurizio Sarri To Succeed At Chelsea

Jose Mourinho believes Maurizio Sarri could succeed at Chelsea if given the time to prove himself.

The Italian boss looked to be on the verge of getting sacked last month after collecting a couple of embarrassing defeats and in turn dropping down to the 6th spot of the Premier League.

While the Blues have not climbed their way back in the top four, they have won their past two league games and also have a game in hand.

Speaking to beIN Sports, Mourinho explained how it is different in England than in Italy for all managers. He said, “Honestly, Italy is not an easy country.”

“In Italy, you learn how to deal with the press who are very specialist. They have top commentators, they have people with great experience in football and the journalists are very clever in using the emotional way people live football in Italy.”

“Maurizio Sarri comes to England with more than 20 years of experience in football. I think he’s just ready. The more difficult thing to do is to impose his style of play which is his way he always played in Napoli.”

“The Premier League is the kind of country where you have to lose a bit your identity to try to adapt to the characteristics of the game and the characteristics of the opponents. He will learn with time. I believe the second season will be better for him.”
