Joe Cole wants Antonio Conte to stay at Chelsea

He believes summer spending is required to catch Manchester City

After winning the Premier League on his debut season with Chelsea, Antonio Conte has struggled this season. The club is preparing for the likelihood of missing Champions League next season as they are still battling to finish in top 4.

Conte is expected to leave the Blues at the end of the season and the club have already been linked to numerous managerial targets to replace the Italian.

Former Chelsea Player Joe Cole wants Conte to stay at the club next season and believes spending in the transfer window will help them to catch Manchester City. But also agrees this decision might not be easy for people who are running the club.

“I would love to see him stay. I think he is very highly regarded by the players and the fans,” Cole, who now plays in the US for the Tampa Bay Rowdies, told Goal.

“It has got to be a choice for the people who are a lot more informed of the situation than me.

“I trust the people, the higher-ups at Chelsea to make the right decisions for the club because the club has been serial winners for 20 years and I am sure it will carry on.

“All of the chasing pack will have to spend a lot of money this summer [after Manchester City won the title].

“Man City are a special side but I also feel like Manchester United will close the gap next year. For Chelsea, we will have to wait and see how it settles with their management structure, but obviously I would like to see Chelsea close the gap, and I am sure they will.”

Cole appeared 282 times for Chelsea, scoring 40 goals and winning three Premier League titles and two FA Cups in his seven years stay at the club.

Conte claims Gary Cahill deserves England World Cup spot

Conte claims Gary Cahill deserves England World Cup spot

Cahill was left out of England squad earlier in March

Gary Cahill was one of the important players for Chelsea last season in their Premier League winning campaign but this season he has struggled to have a regular run in the team under Antonio Conte.

The Italian dropped the defender earlier this season and was an unused substitute matches against Manchester City, Manchester United, Tottenham and Barcelona over recent months.

But the 32 year old has returned to Conte’s starting XI for the past four matches and has put in assured performances at the heart of back three.

Conte believes that the England International should be named in the England World Cup squad. He was left out of Gareth Southgate’s England selection for the March friendlies against Netherlands and Italy.

In this moment he’s deserving to play,” he told reporters ahead of Saturday’s trip to Swansea City, as quoted by Goal.com

“He’s in good physical condition. We are talking about an important player with great experience. He has played big competitions.

“I know when you have to go to play a World Cup or European Championship, it’s important to have players with great experience because the pressure will become very strong for everyone.

“I’m sure that the coach will take the best decision for the national team.”

Cahill took over the captaincy from John Terry last year and Conte believes it took the player some time to adjust to the role.

“It wasn’t simple replacing John Terry because we are talking about a great leader,” he explained. “It’s something you have in your blood.

“I think Cahill developed a lot this year, but we have three or four players who take responsibility, who try to lead the team.”

Chelsea's deals are not affected by Conte uncertainty

The Italian is expected to leave the club this summer

Antonio Conte won Premier League on his debut season with Chelsea last year but has endured a frustrating campaign this season. The Club are battling for a finish in top four this season in order to qualify for the Champions League next season.

The Italian has been linked with a summer exit in recent months and his future is still uncertain with a decision likely to be made at the end of the season.

Chelsea will continue with their transfer plans despite not knowing if Antonio Conte will be in charge next season, The Mirror says.

Roman Abramovich has ordered Chelsea to press ahead with transfer business  even though they do not know who will be manager next season. He is determined to rebuild the squad this summer after falling behind in the Premier League.

The Russian Businessman wants the Blues to complete the deals as soon as possible is also borne out of the fact that the transfer window closes before the start of next season, leaving club chiefs with less time to complete their business.

They are planning on starting with a £30 million move for Jean Michael Seri from Nice and are also planning a move for Manchester City defender John Stomes.

Stones has fallen down the pecking order

Chelsea are expected to overhaul their squad this summer after enduring a poor second campaign under Antonio Conte. The Italian won the Premier League with the club in his debut season but are struggling to finish in the top 4 this season.

The Manager as well as few players are expected to leave the club this summer to accommodate new signings. The Blue’s priority is adding defensive reinforcements and has been linked to many. One of them is Manchester City’s John Stones.

Stones was one of the outstanding players for City in the first three months of the season but then his hamstring injury brought his progress to halt. In his absence Vincent Kompany has established himself back into the team and arrival of Aymeric Laporte in January has pushed him down the pecking order.

The 24 year old is now the fourth choice centre back in the club and has made just three appearances since the end of the January. This led to reports that he could be available for transfer in the summer.

According to dailymail, Roman Abramovich has instructed Chelsea officials to move for John Stones as he wants to complete the transfer targets as soon as possible before the next season starts.

Though Pep Guardiola believes that the England International is still a crucial part for their future and is keen to keep him.

Odds Conte to get sacked- Chelsea manager odds to get sacked slashed in bookies

Odds Conte to get sacked- Odds slashed on Conte being sacked

Odds Conte to get sacked? Who could replace Antonio Conte if he is sacked by Chelsea? Conte is a beloved character at Stamford Bridge. But the Chelsea boss is under increasing pressure. So here are the Conte to get sacked and Chelsea next manager betting odds.

Ladbrokes has been forced to cut the Italian’s odds becoming the Chelsea overlord’s latest managerial victim after a flurry of bets in the London area. This saw Conte’s odds to get slashed to 1/4 from 8/1 in the bookmakers’ Sack Race betting.

The odds have been slashed for Chelsea manager Antonio Conte to be axed, but who could replace him?

Odds Conte to get sacked- Chelsea Manager Antonio Conte now 1/4 to be sacked before the end of the season!

Antonio Conte could be on his way out at the end of the season. Chelsea FC are currently fifth in the Premier League table, five points behind Spurs. This could well mean that Chelsea will not qualify for the Champions League next season.

Conte has repeatedly antagonized the Chelsea board over the lack of spending in the transfer market. Meanwhile, Conte has failed in all competitions so far, barring the FA Cup- with the final to be played against Manchester United.

It looks as if either Conte will quit over his unhappiness at the board or Chelsea will sack him. However, the only reason why Chelsea have’t sacked him (in my opinion) is because of the high £10 million pay-out Chelsea would have to pay Conte if they sack him. This has inevitably become a stalemate. Conte will want to get sacked for his pay-out, while Chelsea are hoping Conte will walk at the end of the season.

Furthermore, with several other candidates for the manager job being lined up, Conte’s odds to get sacked have been slashed.

The odds Conte to get sacked are at 1/4 odds to leave before the last game of the season. Additionally, odds are at 11/5 that Conte will be still at Chelsea for the last game of the season.

Odds Next Chelsea Manager

Odds Conte to get sacked- Maurizio Sarri odds next Chelsea manager Napoli

Next permanent Chelsea manager odds? Who could replace Antonio Conte at Chelsea?

And there’s a whole host of heavy hitters from Napoli’s Maurizio Sarri and former Barca boss Luis Enrique at the head of the market. But the bookie hasn’t ruled out Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri, Celtic’s Brendan Rodgers or Laurent Blanc.

Chelsea FC next manager odds Odds
Maurizio Sarri 3/1
Luis Enrique 7/2
Massimiliano Allegri 4/1
Brendan Rodgers 5/1
Laurent Blanc 6/1
Thomas Tuchel 12/1
Carlo Ancelotti 14/1
Leonardo Jardim 14/1
John Terry 16/1
Guus Hiddink 18/1
Marco Silva 18/1
Maurizio Sarri 20/1
Zinedine Zidane 22/1

Maurizio Sarri is the favourite to replace Antonio Conte at Chelsea – 3/1 – according to the bookies.

Odds Conte to get sacked-Maurizio Sarri favourite to land Chelsea job napoliMaurizio Sarri is the favourite to take his place at the Stamford Bridge helm. Sarri has taken Napoli to just one point behind Serie A leaders Juventus this season.

Napoli, usually a 5th/6th position team, are now in the race to win the league. Furthermore, Sarri likes to play attacking, attractive football.

This wold surely go down well with Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich whom has wanted attacking football for years. Sarri’s Napoli have won 26 of their 34 matches in the Serie A and have only lost twice all season. That’s one loss less than Juventus! The Italian underdogs have also scored 71 goals and only conceded 23.

The Italian manager was banker for most of his life. It wasn’t until he was in his 50’s that he started out at managing lower league football teams. He climbed the management ladder and is now coaching Napoli.

Sarri is in such a strong position to take the Chelsea job that odds Conte to get sacked have been slashed.

Fun Maurizio Sarri fact: Sarri is a well known cigarette smoker and is seen smoking during games.

In 2018, Napoli’s Europa League opponents, RB Leipzig, made a smoking section in the locker room, specifically for Sarri!

Luis Enrique: 7/2 odds to become Chelsea manager next season

Odds Conte to get sacked-Luis Enrique favourite to land Chelsea jobBut there are other contenders too. Just recently, the press have been reporting that Luis Enrique is close to accepting the job at Chelsea.

Luis Enrique won the Champions League and the La Liga for Barcelona among other trophies. Enrique’s chance of becoming Chelsea manager have further cut odds Conte to get sacked.

His attacking footballing philosophy will surely be a big contributor to Chelsea wanting to hire him. Chelsea will have competition from Arsenal among other teams to land him. But, Arsenal will only have a £50 million budget available this summer according to reports. This news will further strengthen the odds of Enrique choosing Chelsea.

Massimiliano Allegri: 4/1 odds to become next Chelsea manager

Massimiliano Allegri odds next Chelsea manager Chelsea FC Odds Conte to get sackedMassimiliano Allegri odds next Chelsea manager are at 4/1. However, Allegri is not known for attacking football. In-fact, Juventus often play a defensive, low-line style of football. This would essentially mean Chelsea are hiring another version of Conte.

Additionally, while his Juve side are top of the table, they lost recently to Napoli 1-0 which reduced the gap to just one point. It would be ironic if Chelsea hire Allegri though. This is because Allegri was the manager to replace Conte at Juventus.

If he does the same at Chelsea it would be quite funny. It seems these three managers are the favourites to replace Conte at the end of the season.

Thomas Tuchel is also being linked to the Chelsea job. But he is reportedly heading to PSG Personally, Sarri would be my preferred option. But all three are good options whom Chelsea would be lucky to have.

Chelsea linked with a shocking move for Premier League manager

Antonio Conte likely to leave at the end of the season

Antonio Conte is likely to leave Chelsea at the end of the season after enduring a disappointing campaign this season. The Italian won the Premier League in his debut season but has struggled this season and are now fighting to finish in top 4 in order to qualify for Champions League next season.

The Blues have already been linked to managers like Luis Enrique and Massimiliano Aleegri to replace Conte. But they have also been linked with a shock move for Huddersfield manager David Wagner.

Wagner has established himself as one of Europe’s most promising coach during his time at Huddersfield. He inspired the team to earn promotion in the Premier League last year and will be looking to defy their doubters by ensuring Premier League survival.

He previously used to manage the reserve teams of Borussia Dortmund and Eintracht Frankfurt.

Wagner even refused to rule out Chelsea move and revealed he will talk with Huddersfield owner when the season ends.

“Of course I’ve heard that,” Wagner told German outlet Kicker, when asked about the speculation surrounding his future.

“But I want to get there [safety with Huddersfield] first, talk to owner Dean Hoyle, and then maybe check what options are still there.

“Maybe I do not have to think about that, but it will always be like this: the first and last conversation I have is with our owner.

“I owe it to the club too much and have been able to experience so many beautiful things with him.”

This is the plan and the most likely option,” he added.

“I do it the same way as last year, first reaching the big goal, then sitting down with our owner at one table – we have a great relationship and talk about the future in peace.”

Chelsea on high alert as Real Madrid drop Star's asking price

The Blues are set to overhaul their squad this summer

Chelsea are looking to strengthen their squad in several key positions come the end of the season, having endured a disappointing second campaign under Antonio Conte. They are now fighting to finish in top 4 in order to qualify for Champions.

The Blues have been linked with many attacking players ahead of the transfer window and one of them is Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale. They have shown interest in him in the past and there were reports too that Eden Hazard and the Welshman will be included in a swap deal.

Bale has struggled to get a regular run in the team this season under Zinedine Zidane as the Frenchman prefers Isco and Asensio ahead of him. He has also been sidelined many times due to injuries and is frustrated with lack of game time.

The Forward was on the bench again in the Champions League semi-final against Bayern Munich, intensifying the rumors that he wants to leave the club this summer. Club President Florentino Perez also wants to sell him and has set a asking price of €100 million.

But Chelsea are on high alert as Gareth Bale’s price tag has dropped to €70 million as Real hope to spark interest, according to Don BalonPerez has realized that the huge asking price was putting teams off and that’s why reduced it.

Manchester United and Tottenham are also keeping tabs on the 28 year old.

The Blues are looking to tighten up their defense for next season

After a poor campaign this season, Chelsea will be looking to bolster their squad in several key positions this summer in order to challenge for the title next season. Their priority is adding defensive reinforcements .

According to Calciomercato, Chelsea are set to reignite their interest in Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly. He has been linked with the Blues for a long time and they even wanted sign him last summer but a deal never went through.

Koulibaly is considered among one of the best defenders in the world. Since Maurizio Sarri took charge of the Partenopei, the Senegalese performances have improved almost beyond recognition, especially from a technical point of view.

The 26 year old year has made 161 appearances for the club and has scored 8 goals, including the one he recently scored against leaders Juventus last weekend which blown the title race wide open. Now the points difference between them are 1 point.

Key figures within Chelsea are convinced of his qualities and are ready to make a move for him. They are preparing a bid of £65 million for him this summer.

Though the defender has no release clause in the new contract and Napoli can set their own asking when the interested clubs make a move for him.

Koulibaly joined the Serie A giants from Belgian side KRC Genk in the summer of 2014 for just £7 million.

The Blues are expected to overhaul their squad this summer

Chelsea are looking to strengthen their squad in several key positions come the end of the season, having endured a disappointing second campaign under Antonio Conte.

One of the key priorities of the Blues is to bolster their defense especially the right-back area. Davide Zappacosta’s future is uncertain after an unimpressive debut season in England and the club wants to bring someone who can compete with Victor Moses.

Chelsea are eyeing a move for Napoli’s right-back Elseid Hysaj. According to Sportitalia’s Alfredo Pedulla, Chelsea have already met with Hysaj’s Albanian agent Mario Giuffredi on multiple occasions.

The Albanian defender has been a major protagonist in Napoli’s amazing season so far, but that has made him one of the most coveted jewels in Naples. He has made 41 appearances for the club this season.

The 24 year old has also shown his versatility by deputizing at left back during Faouzi Ghoulam’s two spells out injured. He has just €50 million release clause which is affordable in today’s market.

Chelsea believes he is perfect fit for Premier League and wants to bring him this summer. But will face tough competition as Napoli are trying to tie Hysaj down to a new contract to fend off interest from other clubs.

Liverpool and Manchester United are also keeping tabs on the right-back.

Both Morata and Bakayoko have been linked with a summer exit

Chelsea are expected to overhaul their squad this summer after a poor campaign. They are still fighting to qualify for the Champions League next season. Both manager and few players are linked with a move away.

Alvaro Morata and Tiemoue Bakayoko have been heavily linked with a exit after a poor debut season with the Blues.

Morata joined Chelsea from Real Madrid for £57 million last summer and was brought to replace Diego Costa. Despite a sparkling start, the 25 year struggled to get a regular run in the team due to injuries and inconsistency. He has scored 15 goals in all competitions for them.

Bakayoko joined from Monaco for £39.7 million last summer and has made a slow start to his career. Whenever he was given chances, he failed to impress and ultimately fell behind the pecking order.

Juventus are interested in bringing Morata back and even Monaco are willing to resign Bakayoko as they are also planning for a summer overhaul.

But the English giants are ready to resist offers for Álvaro Morata and Tiémoué Bakayoko unless either of the pair express a desire to leave Stamford Bridge this summer, according to The Telegraph.

Determined to learn from the lessons of casting Kevin De Bruyne and Mohamed Salah aside too soon, Chelsea are willing to give Morata and Bakayoko time to fulfill their promise. Their is a strong belief in the club that they will prove to be important players.

Both the players were in the substitute bench in the FA Cup final against Southampton and will have to battle to force their way in the starting line up against Manchester United in the starting line up.
