Zidane Makes Decision Over On Loan Chelsea Star's Future

Zinedine Zidane has reportedly made up his mind over the future of midfielder Mateo Kovacic after taking over the reins at Real Madrid for a second time. The Croatian ace is currently plying his trade at Chelsea and has played a crucial role in their midfield alongside N’Golo Kante, Ross Barkley and Jorginho.

According to Metro, the new Real Madrid gaffer is set to let go of the on-loan ace and let him join the Blues permanently. The player was almost frozen out by the Frenchman during his last spell at Santiago Bernabeu and finally got to show his talent for the Blues since his move to Stamford Bridge last summer.

Kovacic has had a decent season under Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri in the Premier League. The Italian has entrusted him with the responsibility to stabilise the midfield and the Croatian has done well to respond to his manager’s call.

On the other hand, with Zidane back at the helm of the Spanish giants, the scenario might not change for Kovacic if he returns to the Bernabeu at the end of his loan spell at Chelsea. Zidane is known to favour Isco more than the World Cup finalist midfielder and might look to let him leave on a permanent basis if Chelsea are ready to bring him back to the Bridge next summer.

It is now to be seen how the future pans out for Kovacic and which club does he end up playing for in the next season.

Real Madrid have confirmed the appointment of Zinedine Zidane as their new manager, thus sacking Santiago Solari. Solari joined Real Madrid following the sacking of Julen Lopetegui. Real’s results improved under Solari.

However, Real suffered three consecutive defeats, one of which saw them being eliminated from the Champions League in the round of 16. Despite a 4-1 drubbing against Real Valladolid, Real Madrid have decided to terminate Solari’s contract and appoint Zidane instead.

Chelsea Are Disappointed After Draw Against Wolves: Loftus-Cheek

Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek has said that it was the Blues are disappointed with their effort after their draw against Wolves in their last match at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea showed a late resurgence in the dying minutes as Eden Hazard scored from a long ranger to snatch away a point for his side from the jaws of defeat after Raul Jimenez had given the Wolves the lead earlier in the second half.

Speaking on the club’s official website, the young midfield ace said, “We knew Wolves would come here and set up like that,’ the 23-year-old said. It shows teams are threatened by our creativity and want to sit back and get us on the counter. We switched off and conceded.”

He added, “We had all the possession but couldn’t break them down. Credit to Wolves, they were really compact and hard to break down. We needed to move the ball faster and find something different, some magic to open up the defence because it was tight in there. So credit to them but we needed something more.”

Loftus-Cheek rounded off, “We tried to throw everything forward and got a good goal from Eden in the last minute. We saved a loss but we wanted the win, and really it feels like two points lost. We’re disappointed.”

Chelsea star Eden Hazard believes that slow moving of the ball and lack of chances created were the two reasons why Chelsea could not defeat Wolves at Stamford Bridge yesterday.

Chelsea were eager to make it three wins out of three for them. However, Wolves opened the scoring in the second half courtesy of Raul Jimenez. The Blues were set for a second Premier League defeat to Nuno Santo’s side this season. However, Eden Hazard rescued Chelsea with a stoppage-time equaliser.

Following the match, Hazard said, “Of course we are disappointed. We didn’t create a lot of chances and we moved the ball too slowly. This type of game, maybe three months ago we’d have lost.

The spirit is good. When we lost 6-0 to Manchester City, we said there were three or four months left and we have to try and finish in the top four. The players are a bit sad because we probably could do better.”

Chelsea remain at 6th place in the league table with a game in hand. The Blues next travel to Ukraine to play their Europa League last 16 second leg against Dynamo Kiev on Thursday.

Alan Shearer Breaks Down What Is Truly Wrong With Sarri-Ball At Chelsea

Alan Shearer dismissed Maurizio Sarri’s claims that Wolves were not organized enough to be broken down by the Chelsea side on Sunday.

The legendary Premier League striker spoke during the post-game analysis, giving us an insight into what really went wrong with the Blues in the 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge.

Hearing Sarri’s comments, Shearer said, “I think that’s very harsh. There’s only Liverpool and Manchester City with a better defensive record away from home. They were well organised today.”

“Chelsea didn’t beat Wolves today because of Chelsea’s poor play because Wolves were not organised. They were too slow, they were too ponderous, and too many times, instead of having width or passing the ball forward they went sideways or backwards or not move Wolves around enough.”

“They linked up superbly,” he said. “When you play that way you’ve got to have a guy that will hold it up and link things up and someone is willing and running to get in and around them. I thought they were very good today. They’ve got a system they stick to and it works.”

“There’s the system Wolves play, five at the back, three in midfield, they’re compact and if you’re going to get through them it has to be quick.”

“There’s the organisation the men behind the ball, if you want to beat the stretch them, get wide, they didn’t do it quick enough at all.”

Sarri Blames Chelsea Teammates For Letting Jorginho Down Against Wolves

Sarri Blames Chelsea Teammates For Letting Jorginho Down Against Wolves

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has insisted that Jorginho’s teammates were the reason behind his lacklustre performance against Wolves. The Blues snatched a draw from the jaws of defeat against the West Midlands club as talisman Eden Hazard scored from a long-range shot to give his side a point. The Wolves had taken the lead earlier in the match with Raul Jimenez putting the ball in the back of the net to get his side ahead. Italian midfielder Jorginho had yet another bad day at the office but the manager has denied to blame it on the player.

Speaking in the post-match press conference, Sarri said, “If the other players don’t move without the ball, Jorginho is in trouble.”

He added, “He is very able to play with one touch, but if you want to play one-touch football you need movements from the other players. Then, for the last 20 minutes, Jorginho is not suitable for a 4-2-3-1, so (taking him off) was a consequence of changing system, not the performance. I know him very well – he can get in trouble if the rest of the team is not moving.”

Sarri also lavished praise on the defensive midfielder as he hit back at the fans who have been criticising the Italian by saying, “He is a very strong character and a professional player. He has to play in every condition.”

Gianfranco Zola Calls On Eden Hazard To Ramp Up The Intensity

Gianfranco Zola Calls On Eden Hazard To Ramp Up The Intensity

Gianfranco Zola has called on Eden Hazard to ramp up his intensity to surpass his highest goal tally this season.

Hazard has been a key figure in Maurizio Sarri’s plans and has been the most consistent for the West London side. The Belgian is relishing the possession based football of the Italian and has been very impressive so far netting 12 and setting up another 11 this season.

Chelsea have played a match less than both Arsenal and Manchester United and could use this opportunity to boost their top four hopes. They are currently two points adrift of fourth placed United and should the Red Devils waste point against the Gunners on Sunday the Blues will have a realistic chance to finish their season in the top four.

Zola said, “He is a fantastic player, extremely good.

“He has unbelievable potential and it seems to me that he is getting better and better each season.

“It is a pleasure to be on the bench and see him playing for you, as he is one of those players who makes things happen.

“I am pleased he is going to be breaking the previous best stats records in the club, but I am not surprised as I see what he can do.”

Why Chelsea might fail to overturn FIFA ban

Chelsea have decided to start a war with FIFA on their transfer ban. This is what their club statement read.

“Chelsea Football Club is astonished by the FIFA appeal committee’s decision not to suspend its sanction pending completion of the appeal process.”FIFA’s decision means the original restrictions stand and Chelsea will be unable to recruit new players this summer or in the January 2020 transfer window.

In similar cases, Spanish clubs Real Madrid, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid were each granted provisional measures which ensured bans were not immediately enforced.

Chelsea feel their treatment is inconsistent and will consider their next steps once written reasons for the decision are received from FIFA. This could include an appeal against this decision to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

“As a matter of procedural fairness and equality of treatment, and Swiss law, the club’s right to an appeal process must be afforded, before any irremediable sanction takes effect,” continues the statement.

So far as the club is aware, in all previous cases where a registration ban has been imposed by FIFA, a decision has also been made to suspend the sanction until the appeal process has been completed.

“In this case, Chelsea considers that it is being treated inconsistently in comparison with other European clubs.””The club notes the appeal committee’s statement that it has the right to appeal to CAS,” continued the statement.

“In the meantime the club will continue to fully cooperate with the proceedings.”

Chelsea by all means it seems will be fighting a futile war. FIFA are desperate to correct their name after so many allegations in recent weeks. They are even going after Manchester City which means nobody is getting any special treatment.

Hence for Chelsea, it would seem better to just accept and come clean rather than drag it on and get more dirt.
