When asked about his fitness levels, he said, “I’m (feeling) very good. I rested against Fulham,” Luiz said. “You have to do something special in the football, to have someone working with you every single game.”

“I’ve had someone working with me since three weeks before the (2012) Champions League final in Munich and he still works with me now. We have to invest in our bodies and to have someone looking after me. I work with Chelsea, but also at home with him.”

“He is someone who worked with Didier (Drogba), (Florent) Malouda and (Salomon) Kalou. Someone who works very well. He works a lot in prevention. Before something happens, he works in prevention.”

Also on Sarri, Luiz added, “You don’t change your character because of the situation, I think you change the situation. He’s a great human, someone with the love and passion for football, someone loving with people and trying to help everybody, and trying to give the best advice.”

“When you lose a game, like we did in Manchester (6-0), no-one is going to be happy and coming here joking around. He’s a real person, and real people have feelings good and bad.”

Dynamo Kiev President Confident Of Outplaying Chelsea In Europa League Tie

Dynamo Kiev president Ihor Surkis has said that he is confident about his side outplaying Chelsea in their next encounter in the Europa League. The Ukranian side are set to take on the Blues in the round of 16 matchup, with the first leg to be played at Stamford Bridge.

Speaking to the media ahead of the match, the Dynamo Kiev president said, “We’ve got a very famous opponent. It’s interesting to see what our worth is opposing such a team as Chelsea. We always aim to perform in the Champions League. Well, Chelsea are the Champions League level team. We’re making headway.”

He added, “It’s very important to keep the intrigue alive till the game in Kyiv. If we do that, we’ll have chances to outplay Chelsea. I believe in our guys and I think they’re also optimistic.”

Surkis also said, “There are no invincible opponents. We have a good young team. I’m sure our guys will do their best to show what they’re capable of. On top of everything else, it’s a great commercial for them. If they want to play in top leagues one day, they must demonstrate worthy football now.

He concluded, “Chelsea have a great lineup, so we don’t know who’ll perform against us. First of all we must focus on our play. I’m optimistic about forthcoming games and I hope fans believe in our team too.”

Pedro thanks Sarri for best Chelsea form

Chelsea winger Pedro believes that he is at the best form in his Chelsea career and has thanked club manager Maurizio Sarri for that.

Pedro has been in really good form for Chelsea this season. He has made 37 appearances for the club, scoring 8 goals and providing three assists.

So far, Pedro’s best season with Chelsea was under Antonio Conte in 2016-17 where he scored 13 goals and provided 12 assists in 43 appearances.

However, the Spaniard feels that he hasn’t been in any better form throughout his career. Pedro said, “It’s probably the best form I’ve been in. Maurizio is very clear with his ideas and that’s good for me because I run, press high and recover the ball. I stay close to the target to score goals and help my team — that’s good. I speak with him a lot about my role on the pitch and I’m comfortable playing high, and I like it.”

After some lackluster performances, Chelsea seem to be back on the right track and have a good chance of finishing in the top four of the Premier League this season. Pedro has credited Chelsea’s recent improvement to his team’s mentality.

The Spaniard said, “We said ‘this is enough’. I spoke during the week about the situation [with my team-mates], but now we’re all focusing on reaching the top four. It’s the most important thing for us until the end, to try to win every game. They’re all finals because it’s so important to get points, try to win every game and if not, it’s going to be so difficult to qualify.”

Chelsea’s next match is against Dynamo Kyiv tomorrow night at Stamford Bridge. The Blues will hope to put up a fine performance so that they can enter the second leg at Kyiv next Thursday with more confidence.

Is a sensational third return to Chelsea on the cards for Jose Mourinho?

Will it happen for a third time? Surely not. However, Jose Mourinho has refused to rule it out.

“Rumours are rumours,’ Mourinho told Spanish television channel Cuatro. ‘If you asked me if I have a problem returning to [Real] Madrid one day, I don’t. ‘I don’t have a problem returning to Chelsea, to Porto, to Inter, to any of the clubs I’ve been at.”

“It’s a nice feeling to be liked, especially somewhere where you have been before. It’s a nice feeling but as I’ve said before, the only club where I’ve been before that has invited me to return was Chelsea and not Madrid.”

As for Chelsea, the team should think twice about hiring a manager who they have fired twice. Clearly Mourinho likes to have control and Chelsea are the last club to let the manager do so.

However, given the rate at which at Chelsea are going through managers, they might not have many left.

Paul Merson has backed Real Madrid flop Gareth Bale to join Chelsea.

The former Tottenham Hotspur star and Welsh captain has endured a tiring few years at Real Madrid since making his record move to the Spanish capital. Although he has a healthy scoring and assists return, he never eased into the side and with recurring injuries, he now looks past his prime.

Manchester United were thought to be his prime chasers but now Merson has backed Chelsea to get him.

“I would have said Man United a while back. But now you’re looking at [Marcus] Rashford, you’re looking at [Anthony] Martial – would they pay that kind of money for him? I think it’s hard, I don’t know. ”

“Probably Chelsea are probably the only ones really who are going to pay that kind of money.  You’ve got [Callum] Hudson-Odoi, and then you’ve got the transfer embargo.  They’ve appealed, if they get another one you never know whether they’re just going to go mad in the transfer market and buy three or four players.”

“I don’t see too many places opening up for him. I thought it would be Man United but I don’t see that now.”

Chelsea Looking To Sign £35m Rated La Liga Forward

According to the latest reports, Chelsea are looking to sign Celta Vigo forward, Maxi Gomez in the near future.

The Blues are still unsure about the future of Gonzalo Higuain who has turned out to be an important figure on the attacking front. The Argentine’s presence has opened up new avenues for Maurizio Sarri to exploit the opposition defences, something he could not do with Alvaro Morata.

However, Higuain’s loan deal is set to last till the end of this season only. Chelsea do have an option to keep him for the 2019/20 campaign by paying Juventus a hefty loan fee but it is uncertain at this point if they will exercise those rights.

Gomez is a highly rated striker in the La Liga with 9 goals and 5 assists to his name this season. He racked up 18 goals last term and is being sought out by rival outfit, Liverpool as well.

It is being said that Luis Suarez has told his former club to chase after his compatriot. Gomez might not be at the same level as Higuain but he is still only 22 years old.

He is physically strong and is capable of holding up the ball like traditional number nines. He is also very clever with his positioning inside the opposition box.

Valued at £35m in the present market, Chelsea should definitely consider making an offer ahead of the summer transfer window.

Callum Hudson-Odoi Reveals The Players Who Helped Him In Settling To Life At Chelsea

Callum Hudson-Odoi has revealed how Eden Hazard, Pedro and Willian have helped him to settle at Chelsea since his promotion to the senior team.

The winger was heavily linked with a move to Bayern Munich as Chelsea had to reject a number of advances from the German side. The youngster even had submitted a transfer request but the Blues were in no mood to let their prized asset leave.

With Eden Hazard an automatic choice, it has been a fight between Pedro and Willian which further has diminished his chances. Despite being praised by the manager the 18 year old hasn’t been given chances to prove his worth for the Blues.

But with Chelsea set to serve two transfer bans the winger could break into Sarri’s plans. Hudson-Odoi said, “Everyone in the dressing room was very humble and genuine [when I came in].

“There was nobody who was bigger than anybody else, no egos. They brought me into the system and made me feel welcome and to not be scared or nervous, just myself.

“I look up to everyone, but I especially look forward to training with Hazard, Willian and Pedro, especially because that’s where I play.

“I just keep working hard to try to emulate what they do and, hopefully, I can be where they are one day.”

Chelsea have reportedly opened talks with Luis Campos as their hunt for a new sporting director continues, The post for a sporting director has been left vacant at the club since the departure of Michael Emanelo and Campos, who is currently the sporting director at the Ligue 1 club Lille, is on the verge of being roped in by the Blues to fill up the void.

Since the departure of Emanelo, Club director Marina Granovskaia took on the responsibilities of the Nigerian. However, now the west London club are looking to delegate the authority to the former AS Monaco sporting director for his expertise in football recruitment.

Campos is known to be a very good friend of Jose Mourinho and there were also speculations that he might move to Manchester United during the regime of the Portuguese gaffer. It is being reported that a number of big-name clubs other than Chelsea are looking to get Campos to take on the responsibility of recruitment for them but it seems that the Blues are leading the race to get him as their new sporting director with a possibility of Campos leaving Lille at the end of the season.

Chelsea Have Made An Appeal To FIFA Regarding Their Transfer Ban

Chelsea have appealed to FIFA against their transfer ban, the football’s governing body has confirmed.

The West London giants cannot make any transfer dealings in the next two transfer windows after FIFA found them guilty of breaching a number of regulations regarding transfers related to players aged under 18.

The Premier League outfit had planned to overhaul their squad in the summer but in the current scenario, they might have to take help of their loan contingency.

Earlier the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona completed signings during the appeal process but a number of reports suggested Chelsea would not have that privilege.

In an official statement, FIFA said, “there is no exact timetable” for Chelsea’s case, and the appeal panel chairman must decide on freezing the punishment.”

Chelsea had hoped to delay the proceedings by making an appeal but they are unlikely to be exempted. The ongoing form has compelled the club to make changes in the summer.

If the club fails to break into the top four Sarri could have to make way for a new manager. Zinedine Zidane has been linked heavily in the last couple of weeks but the French man is yet to be approached officially.

Sarri says where he wants Chelsea to finish in the Premier League

0

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has said that he is targeting a top-four finish with Chelsea in the Premier League this season.

Chelsea are currently 6th in the league table. However, they have played one match less than Arsenal and Manchester United due to the postponing of their match against Brighton and Hove Albion. Hence, Chelsea have a pretty good chance of finishing in the top four of the Premier League this season.

Speaking after Chelsea’s win over Fulham, Sarri said, “I will be very happy if we finish in the top four. I know the target of my club is to return to the Champions League. I was lucky in Naples because we went to the Champions League three times in a row for the first time in the history of the club. I would like very much to do the same for this club.

I hope Tottenham will be involved [in the top-four battle]. In that case there are two spots for four teams, which is better than one for three! We will see. I understand very well in England it’s very difficult to be in the top four. It’s very competitive.

And not only the Premier League. You have to play in the FA Cup, the League Cup. Every match is very difficult. In the League Cup we played against Liverpool, twice against Tottenham, the final against City. Every match is very difficult, mentally very expensive, and you risk arriving at this moment of the season very tired, more mentally than physically.”

Chelsea next play Dynamo Kyiv on Thursday.
