Chelsea ‘Mount’ Contract Talks With English Midfielder

Chelsea 'Mount' Contract Talks With English Midfielder

Chelsea have begun negotiating Mason Mount over a new contract and are confident that the returning midfielder will accept.

This could be the inevitable work of Frank Lampard, who will be announced as the new Blues boss soon enough. Mount enjoyed a prolific season under Chelsea’s record goalscorer in the Derby County ranks.

Both Lampard and Mount came very close to earning the Rams a promotion to the Premier League. The chiefs were impressed enough with Lampard to give him the vacant spot left behind by Maurizio Sarri and the first bit of business he seems to have addressed is the youngster’s long-term future.

Chelsea are currently promoting a lot of players from within as reports claim that Callum Hudson-Odoi is about to get tied to a £100,000-per-week five-year deal. Ruben Loftus-Cheek has already signed an extension worth £150,000-per-week.

Other than these two academy prospects, Mount has been regarded as one of the best players to come out of Chelsea’s youth setup. He spent the 2017/18 campaign with Vitesse Arnhem and ended up being named their player of the season.

He continued his development in the Championship last term, even earning a call-up to the England senior team somehow. For the first time in Chelsea’s recent history, their academy youngsters have a chance of breaking into the senior side with the transfer ban they are facing.

Mount deserves to be optimistic about his chances with the new direction the South West London outfit has taken on.

Bayern Munich Snap Up Chelsea Youngster After Long Chase

Bayern Munich Snap Up Chelsea Youngster After Long Chase

Bayern Munich have successfully snapped one of Chelsea’s most promising young prospects, Jamal Musiala right from under their noses.

The 16-year-old was convinced by the Bundesliga giant to make the switch right now and sign a five-year deal with them. Of course, breaking into the first team is out of the question right now but he believes it will be better to continue his development in Germany.

Musiala, who holds a double German and England citizenship has been called a “mega-talent”. He represented both countries at U16 level and made three appearances for Chelsea’s U18 side last campaign.

Interestingly enough, the teenager’s agent is none other than Callum Hudson-Odoi’s own brother. Munich were heavily invested in stealing away the Chelsea winger for the past six months but they failed in all their attempts as the latest reports claim that he has just signed a five-year contract extension.

The German news outlet, BILD tried to raise some speculation from this particular transfer, claiming that Musciala’s move could have some effect on Hudson-Odoi.

Chelsea fans can rest easy as that will not be the case. The 18-year-old is recovering well from his Achilles injury and is expected to soon return to the Blues senior side.

Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek has reportedly agreed to a new 5-year contract that could see him earning £150000 a week.

A product of Chelsea’s youth setup, Loftus-Cheek broke into the senior team in 2014 but found it exceedingly hard to find game time. In fact, during the 2017/18 season, the midfielder had to seek a loan move to Crystal Palace to find game time.

This season too, Loftus-Cheek found it hard to find more playing time under Maurizio Sarri during the first few months of the season. However, courtesy of his performances in the Europa League, Loftus-Cheek found more action in the Premier League in 2019. He went on to appear in each of Chelsea’s last 15 Premier League matches. However, an achilles tendon injury saw Loftus-Cheek miss the Europa League Final in Baku where Chelsea beat Arsenal 4-1.

The 22-year old made 40 appearances during the season, scoring 10 goals and providing 5 assists.

According to The Telegraph, Loftus-Cheek, whose current contract with Chelsea expires in 2021, will sign a new 5-year contract with the club that could see him earning £150000 a week.

The Telegraph’s report also states that the 22-year old will sign the contract following the appointment of Frank Lampard as Chelsea manager.

After enduring a difficult start to his career, Loftus-Cheek has established as one of the finest young talents in England and this new contract is richly deserved for him. Besides, with Chelsea facing a transfer ban, Loftus-Cheek committing himself to the club for the longer haul is beneficial for Chelsea.

The 22-year old is currently recuperating from the injury he sustained towards the end of the season and will hope to return to full fitness before Chelsea’s first match of the season next month.

Chelsea Bid Farwell To A Club Legend After 7 Years

Chelsea bid farewell to one of their most decorated players yesterday, one who is sure to go down as a legendary figure at Stamford Bridge – Gary Cahill.

Chelsea’s Arrogance In Frank Lampard Appointment Is Greatly Affecting Derby County

Chelsea's Arrogance In Frank Lampard Appointment Is Greatly Affecting Derby County

Former Crystal Palace owner and business mogul, Simon Jordan has hit out at Chelsea for drawing out the process of hiring Frank Lampard as their new manager.

The Derby County boss got excused from pre-season training as he looks to complete his return to the Stamford Bridge in the coming weeks.

It has been some time since the Rams chairman, Mel Morris announced that both parties were in talks over a potential transfer but a deal has not been concluded yet. This has dealt a huge blow to Derby County, who are already in the midst of preparing for the next season and are aware of who will lead them.

Lampard’s imminent departure has left the Championship outfit scratching their heads over a replacement and due to the prolonged process, they cannot appoint a new head either.

“The way the big six clubs in the Premier League operate is arrogant,” Jordan said. “They will do things when they want, how they want and where they want.

“They [Chelsea] know they can get Frank Lampard. They know they can get Frank Lampard to run through the door to go and manage their club.”

“Their players aren’t back yet and Chelsea have a habit of appointing managers in the middle of July – let’s not forget,” he added. “The arrogance that some of these clubs exhibit is flabbergasting – it’s not like the real world. They’ll do what they need to do when they feel like it at the end of the day, and that isn’t right.”
