Napoli Coach Wants To Take Emerson Palmieri Off Of Chelsea’s Hands

Napoli Coach Wants To Take Emerson Palmieri Off Of Chelsea's Hands

Napoli coach Luciano Spalletti remained coy on his interest in Emerson Palmieri.

For some time now Chelsea have been trying to get rid of the Italian international.

He has dropped in and out of the Blues line up but never managed to establish himself as a serious starter. Maurizio Sarri, Frank Lampard and Thomas Tuchel all failed in getting the best out of him. But the 26-year-old is currently enjoying a rewarding spell with Italy in the European Championship.

Emerson has replaced Leonardo Spinazzola at left-back for The Azzuri and helped them to a win over Spain in the semi-final. He should start once again in the final against England.

Asked about trying to sign Emerson, the coach said: “That is a question I cannot answer, but it’s possible that might’ve happened…”

Spalletti added: “We want to play a style of football that is similar to the city and who the fans will be proud of.

“I’d like to see a team of ‘scugnizzi’ who believe in their own talent and are eager to show it off in any arena.”

Chelsea have dished out £50m to sign Ben Chilwell last summer. Neither Marcos Alonso nor Emerson can overtake him as a starter and might be sold off soon.

Sergio Ramos joined PSG on a two-year deal.

The former Real Madrid defender has joined heavyweights Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer.

Real Madrid confirmed last month that the veteran would leave Bernabeu after a 16-year spell with the Los Blancos.

Chelsea and Man United were interested in signing the 35-year old to strengthen their central-defensive options this summer.

In the end, Ramos decided to move to the French capital where he believes he will continue to grow and improve.

“I am very happy to join Paris Saint-Germain,” Ramos told PSG’s club website. “This is a big change in my life, a new challenge and it’s a day I will never forget.

“I am very proud to be a part of this ambitious project, to be a part of this squad with so many great players. Paris Saint-Germain is a club that has already proven itself at the highest level.

“I want to continue to grow and improve at Paris and help the team to win as many trophies as possible.”

Tammy Abraham Set For Chelsea Exit As Villa And West Ham Circle

Tammy Abraham Set For Chelsea Exit As Villa And West Ham Circle

Tammy Abraham looks destined to leave Chelsea this summer.

Thomas Tuchel clearly does not favour the striker and is planning to sign reinforcements soon.

According to reports, Aston Villa are lining up a move for Abraham. He scored 26 goals in 40 appearances for Villa in the 2018/19 season, helping them earn promotion. West Ham United are also monitoring his situation.

Speaking exclusively to Football FanCast, Dean Windass said: “It would make sense going to Aston Villa because he was on loan there as a young player.

“I just think he would be a better fit for West Ham. If he goes to Villa, they’ve got Ollie Watkins. Is he going to play? He would be asking whether they would change the system so there is two up top.

“The new Chelsea manager doesn’t fancy him and he’s not in his plans. But why would he want to go to Villa if he might not be playing week in, week out?

“If he goes to West Ham, he would probably be playing week in, week out. It would be a better fit for Moyes than Dean Smith.”

Abraham still has three years left on his contract with Chelsea. The Blues can walk away with a hefty profit off of the sale of their academy graduate.

Edmond Tapsoba Responds To Links With Chelsea

Edmond Tapsoba Responds To Links With Chelsea

Chelsea’s top defensive target has responded to his links to the London outfit.

According to earlier reports, Thomas Tuchel is plotting a move for Bayer Leverkusen’s Edmond Tapsoba.

Arsenal were originally interested in the Burkina Faso international and were thought to have placed a bid of €60m. Now, they have shifted their focus to Ben White of Brighton, leaving Tapsoba free for the highest bidder.

Leverkusen rates the defender highly. He has shone since coming into the Bundesliga, showcasing a variety of skills required of a modern-day centre-back. He is still only 22 and has a higher ceiling than most Bundesliga defenders in his age bracket. Chelsea will be plucking one of the most impressive young talents out of the German top-flight if they manage to get the deal done.

Tuchel clearly is scouting for improvements in all three areas in his squad. A striker to score consistently, a midfielder to partner N’Golo Kante and a centre-back to succeed Thiago Silva. Tapsoba fits the bill perfectly. He

“With Chelsea, for the moment, there is nothing concrete, nothing official,” Tapsoba told Afrique Sports, as quoted by the Metro.

“What I can say is that I will start my season with Bayer Leverkusen. We keep our fingers crossed for God to guide us to the right path.”

Jorginho wants to hold talks with Blues director Marina Granovskaia.

The Italian midfielder has attracted interest from other clubs after establishing himself as a key player in Chelsea’s first-team squad.

His current deal at Stamford Bridge expires in 2023 and his agent Joao Santos reveals he is keen to negotiate a new deal with the club.

He has been also a star for the Italians in Euro 2020 playing a pivotal role in their run to the final.

‘Today, Jorginho’s valuation is around €50 million (£42.8m). If a team arrives… obviously he has made it to many finals,’ Santos told Radio Marte.

‘Yes, but our first thought is to speak to Marina Granovskaia about the renewal.

‘This is certainly a very important moment in his career, he has been waiting for it for 20 years.’

Former Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri believes Jorginho will be a frontrunner for the Ballon d’Or if Italy manages to win the Euro 2020.

‘He is a refined player, probably not understood by everyone,’ said Sarri.

‘You have to set your eyes on him and only watch him in the game. He is so good and intelligent that he makes everything seem easy, rarely anything spectacular remains in your eyes. This is its greatness.’

Chelsea Turn To Danny Ings After Haaland Deal Hits Roadblock

2
Chelsea Turn To Danny Ings After Haaland Deal Hits Roadblock

Chelsea have been put on alert over the situation arising in Southampton.

Danny Ings has just turned down a four-year contract extension from The Saints.

The England international wants to test himself once again for a bigger club and only has a year left on his contract. Chelsea were previously aiming to sign Erling Haaland but a move for the Norwegian is proving to be far too difficult.

Many of the European elites harbour an interest in Haaland. He just won Bundesliga’s player of the season award and has a monumental price tag slapped on his back. Borussia Dortmund are under no pressure to sell him this summer but his release clause of €70m will reportedly be activated after 2021/22.

In that case, Chelsea could easily make a more immediate move for Ings. He is Premier League proven, a Golden Boot runner-up from 2019/20 and seems to have really turned his career around at Southampton. The 28-year-old has found his best form after suffering years of agony with injuries at Liverpoool.

Ings could serve as the leading number nine, capable of doing all that is asked by Thomas Tuchel. He would be an immediate upgrade from all of Chelsea’s current options.

Maurizio Sarri Backs Jorginho To Win Balon d'Or

Jorginho again became the star of the night when he scored the winning penalty against Spain at Wembley.

The veteran midfielder was calm and composed in guiding the ball past Unai Simmon for the final kick of the game.

Italy and Spain were left after 120 minutes but it was The Azzurri who progressed in dramatic fashion.

“When you take the kick, you feel this weight fall off your shoulders! I tried to forget everything around me, focus on what I’d trained to do, took a deep breath and got on with it,” former Napoli star Jorginho said.

“Italy never give up, we always believe. This is a marvellous squad that deserves all the best, because we suffer together, we play together, laugh together, joke together and like all families can argue together at times, but we always end up there together.”

Jorginho’s former boss at both Napoli and Chelsea, Maurizio Sarri hailed the midfielder. He told SportItalia, “If he wins the European Championship, he is a candidate for the Ballon d’Or. He’s a refined player and that’s why everyone doesn’t understand him.

“He makes everything seem easy, it’s his greatness. When I went to Chelsea, we managed to snatch him from Manchester City.

“At first it was hard to understand him, the fans, the journalist, now I see that he is appreciated. He was also the captain of Chelsea.”

Former Blues manager Maurizio Sarri regrets forcing Chelsea exit

Ex-boss admits he regrets leaving Chelsea after just one season.

The Italian coach expressed his desire to leave Stamford Bridge in 2019 and join Juventus instead.

He guided the Blues to success in the Europa League in just one season at Stamford Bridge.

He however regrets for forcing his move to Italy even though Marina Granovskaia, the Chelsea director, wanted him to stay.

Speaking to AlfredoPedulla.com, Sarri said: ‘At Chelsea, I made a huge mistake and that was wanting to return to Italy at all costs.

‘Marina tried stopping me from leaving Chelsea, I had this desire to return to Italy.

‘Chelsea are a great club, in the following years [after I left] they have signed many young players suitable for me.

‘I lived a particular year, in which Abramovich could not enter England and we had an owner not present in the stadium.

‘A rather difficult situation, all in the hands of Marina and she had a thousand problems to solve, the football aspect was in the hands of staff, not having the economic power available.

‘Then came Werner, Havertz, Mount, Ziyech – all suited to me and my way of playing.’

Chelsea Need To Beat Manchester Clubs To Haaland’s Signature

0
Chelsea Need To Beat Manchester Clubs To Haaland's Signature

Chelsea are vying for Erling Haaland’s signature but completing a deal this summer is proving to be difficult.

Former Blue, Emmanuel Petit believes it is integral for the club to sign a striker like Haaland.

“I’ll make it simple,” Paddy Power ambassador Petit said.

“Olivier Giroud is on his way out of Chelsea, Tammy Abraham is probably leaving on loan, and Timo Werner is still struggling to score goals consistently and Kai Havertz is not a striker.

“Chelsea need a new striker and someone who scores lots of goals. Erling Haaland is the answer. He’s strong, powerful and young with a bright future in front of him.

“Haaland’s value is already very high, and connections with Tuchel increase his chance of joining Chelsea.

“Offensively, he could become the finisher that Chelsea really need. I can imagine his relationship with Mount, Havertz, Pulisic and Ziyech making him score lots of goals at Stamford Bridge.

“Chelsea need a top striker, it’s as simple as that.”

Haaland’s services is bound to cost a record fee, something Chelsea are not against paying. After all, if it is one player who can unlock the entire team’s potential, then he will be well worth it.

Chelsea Only Club Who Can Promise Two Euro 2020 Winnners

Chelsea Only Club Who Can Promise Two Euro 2020 Winnners

Cesar Azpilicueta pointed out just how great the Chelsea force is in this year’s Euros.

Now with four teams left in the competition, Chelsea are guaranteed to produce at least two Euro winners.

Azpilicueta told The Guardian: “We’re the only club that will have a double champion, that’s true: all four teams left have Chelsea players [Jorginho and Emerson Palmieri with Italy, Denmark’s Andreas Christensen, and Mason Mount, Ben Chilwell and Reece James for England].

“Around this time of year, people always start talking about it, but what matters is the team.

“Winning the Champions League was lovely, now we have a nice challenge with the Euros, another opportunity.”

That is immense for a club who also just won the Champions League trophy. Players have shown their pedigree on the international stage and about to be rewarded heavily for it. This does take Chelsea‘s stature as an English giant to another level.

The club’s representation at the international level is massive which is exactly what every top club should strive for. The likes of young talents Mason Mount, Ben Chilwell and Reece James are already close to winning the most important honours in a player’s career.
