The future of Chelsea star Willian has been an issue of debate all season.

However, the situation has escalated to a different level at the club right now with the development of the latest situations.

The spread of the CoVID-19 has brought football to a halt temporarily. It means that in all likelihood the season might be extended beyond its actual finishing date.

Willian whose contract is set to expire on June 30th, 2020 has now confirmed that he will remain loyal and committed to Chelsea if he has to represent the Blues beyond that legal date to finish the season.

“And if I had to play on those dates, in these months, I think it would be no problem for me to end the league in a way which would be loyal to the club, as they always were with me. Regardless of a signed paper.”

“It’s clear that this is not a certainty, we don’t know what can happen. But without a doubt, as always, I will always be ready to give the best to my club regardless of my contract situation.”

Willian has been linked with a free scoop by Arsenal or Tottenham this summer if Chelsea fail to convince him to sign a new contract on their terms.

Lampard: Hudson-Odoi is recovering well from coronavirus

Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi, who became the first Premier League player to test positive for the coronavirus, is making “great progress” in his recovery, manager Frank Lampard said.

The 19-year-old’s positive test last week had prompted the London club to partially close their Cobham training centre, with the first-team squad and coaching staff asked to self-isolate as a precaution.

“I’m happy to say that in Callum’s case, he has made great progress and almost feels his usual self, which is obviously the news we all want to hear,” Lampard told the club’s website.

“I’m aware that not everyone can or will recover from this virus, so I urge the football and sporting community to continue to act responsibly and look out for the health of others.”

“We still don’t know when competitive football will restart, but it isn’t worth worrying about that too much at the moment,” Lampard added. We all miss football but right now it’s about acting responsibly and in the best interests of society.”

The league has been suspended until April 4 because of the outbreak that has virtually shut down world sport. Globally, the flu-like virus has infected over 190,000 people and killed more than 7,500.

Chelsea Football Club are carrying around business as usual.

The Blues are in the market for multiple players in various positions and one of their prime areas of concern is defence. Their centre backs are fragile and they will need to revamp defence.

However, the very first position they need to address is left back. They currently have Marcos Alonso who is genuinely way too slow for the Premier League and they also have Emerson Palmieri who despite being good in attack is too slow defensively.

Lampard has had to deal with the lack of quality at left back and made it clear to the Chelsea hierarchy that he wants a player who can play fast at left back, and at the same time defend and attack with quality as well.

His first choice was Ben Chilwell. However, Ben’s signing is looking increasingly unlikely with the player being close to Leicester’s top bracket unsalable list.

So they have now moved on to Alex Telles. Reports are claiming that Chelsea have made contact with him. The 36 million pound star is said to be preparing for a summer move with Telles primed to move to Chelsea.

He is fast and good with his crossing and will be a good addition for Lampard.

Manchester City step in to hijack Chelsea’s deal for Martinez

Chelsea were reportedly inching closer to a deal for Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez.

However, the deal could not well face much stronger difficulties. It was being believed that Chelsea had shrugged off the chase of Barcelona for the same player to a great extent.

They were believed to be in the driving seat for the player’s signature this summer.  The Blues had a tough season staying out of the transfer market – partially due to the transfer ban and partially cause Chelsea did not find the right player at the right price in the January market.

However, with summer coming the condition at Chelsea is dire in terms of forwards. Giroud’s deal is set to run down with Batshuayi not up to the mark. This means young Tammy Abraham needs a dependable partner up front and Lautaro Martinez, after his fiery season at Inter Milan has been recognized as a prime target.

However, a new competitor has come up for the signature of the player – Manchester City. The Citizens are willing to let Sergio Aguero leave at the end of this season and have targeted Martinez as a possible replacement. This means City are serious about his signature if they want to replace him with their record scorer and hence will go in hard for him.

It might lead to financial complications for Chelsea as a bidding war would inflate the player’s price and Chelsea will not be able to compete with City’s deep oil filled pockets!

Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount apologizes for breaking self-isolation

England midfielder Mason mount has offered an apology to his club manager Frank Lampard after being spotted playing football in public with Declan despite being expected to be isolation.

Mount was snapped playing with his West Ham counterpart Declan Rice at Trent Park Football centre, near Barnet on Sunday while he was supposed to be in self-isolation due to the Coronavirus outbreak.

According to reports from the UK, the player who is expected to be handed a fine for his behavior reached out to manager Lampard to apologize for his action with the coach said not to have been impressed by him. Lampard and Mount spoke over the phone and the player said sorry having been reminded of his responsibilities by the club. That warning was also extended to all of Chelsea’s players.

Chelsea announced their players would be following government guidelines and self-isolating after Mount’s teammate Callum Hudson-Odoi tested positive for the condition last week.

The development saw Chelsea order its players to stay away from their Cobham training ground for 14 days and they were urged to report anything to the manager if there was anything they needed the club’s attention.

Chelsea Accept Defeat In Timo Werner Chase, Aiming For Moussa Dembele Instead

Chelsea Accept Defeat In Timo Werner Chase, Aiming For Moussa Dembele Instead

Chelsea are targetting Moussa Dembele as Timo Werner is likely to end up at Liverpool next season.

Frank Lampard has been keen on the RB Leipzig forward but his wishes might not come true in the summer.

Dembele will definitely come at a cheaper price but not without an impressive tally of goals. The Frenchman, also linked to Manchester United, has collected 22 goals for Olympique Lyonnais this campaign. Lampard is searching for strikers who will provide some competition to his current number nine, Tammy Abraham.

Werner would have been a versatile option on strike, since the German can play out wide and centrally as well. Dembele, however, is more of a traditional centre-forward. Sky Sports earlier claimed that Dembele would be allowed to leave Lyon next summer but only if his £83m asking price is met.

Lyon refused to entertain any enquiries about the 22-year-old forward back in January. Now, they have settled on the idea of losing him next summer.

The club’s president, Jean-Michel Aulas said last month, “We already have a certain number of offers for our players for summer. We sell the players who want to leave to where they want to go.” Chelsea were only prepared to pay £40m in the winter transfer break. They will definitely have to improve upon their offer to get their hands on Dembele.

Chelsea are said to be furious with Mason Mount after the midfielder was pictured having a kickabout with Declan Rice despite being told to self-isolate.

Following positive coronavirus test results for Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta and Blues winger Callum Hudson-Odoi, all Premier League matches have been suspended until April 4 at the earliest.

Hudson-Odoi’s diagnosis led to Chelsea announcing that their players would be self-isolating in accordance with government guidelines.

However, according to The Mirror, Mount is under fire after being spotted taking part in a kickabout with West Ham United’s Rice at Trent Valley near Barnet. The report also claims that Rice will face no punishment from the Hammers, who are currently not being forced to self-isolate, and a spokesman for Chelsea reportedly said the club will remind Mount of his responsibilities.

The 21-year-old has registered six goals and five assists in the Premier League for Lampard’s side this season.

The current situation in football has maybe not yet officially ended the season but has definitely put a stop to it for now.

This has put everyone first of all to stay in safety and next, wait for football to resume. Assuming things will not start anytime before any time before June-July, football will pick up right in the middle of a transfer period and we can bet you it will be chaos. Players running out of contracts, clubs chasing other players, no planning for the last three months, no guarantee of performances, stock markets down and hence maybe player values as well?

Well one club who it could favor is Chelsea. The Blues are primarily in the market to buy players. They have even outlined most of their targets and one of the targets Lampard wants is Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre Ter Stegen. Although the Nou Camp goalie has a contract till 2022, it is reported that he is not wanted by team-mates and hence, Chelsea were hoping to swoop in for him right in the middle of a transfer market in summer.

However, the Blues have been dealt a blow now as Barcelona in the midst of their fight against falling economy and coronavirus threats, are readying an extension for Ter Stegen’s contract with better pay!

It might convince the German custodian to stay put at a club where he has won so much and thereby Lampard could be left disappointed.

Chelsea have no way of even starting up negotiation given the condition in Europe right now and this might be a huge hit for the Blues as quality goalkeepers are hard to come by.
