Chelsea Football Club are carrying around business as usual.
The Blues are in the market for multiple players in various positions and one of their prime areas of concern is defence. Their centre backs are fragile and they will need to revamp defence.Â
However, the very first position they need to address is left back. They currently have Marcos Alonso who is genuinely way too slow for the Premier League and they also have Emerson Palmieri who despite being good in attack is too slow defensively.Â
Lampard has had to deal with the lack of quality at left back and made it clear to the Chelsea hierarchy that he wants a player who can play fast at left back, and at the same time defend and attack with quality as well.Â
His first choice was Ben Chilwell. However, Ben’s signing is looking increasingly unlikely with the player being close to Leicester’s top bracket unsalable list.Â
So they have now moved on to Alex Telles. Reports are claiming that Chelsea have made contact with him. The 36 million pound star is said to be preparing for a summer move with Telles primed to move to Chelsea.
He is fast and good with his crossing and will be a good addition for Lampard.Â
