Hazard set to complete Real Madrid move in coming days

0

According to reports from Marca, Chelsea talisman Eden Hazard will finish talks regarding a summer move to Real Madrid. Real Madrid have shown interest in signing Hazard for a long time and Hazard never shied away from saying that playing at Real Madrid was his dream.

It seems that the Belgian forward will now join his national teammate Thibaut Courtois at Real. Both clubs are nearly done with negotiations and Hazard will reportedly go to Madrid to search for houses and learn more about the city.

Eden Hazard is one of the best players in the world and has been so for the past year or two. This season, he has been terrific for Chelsea so far, scoring 17 goals and providing 12 assists in 41 appearances across all competitions.

Earlier, there were reports claiming that Hazard signed a contract with Madrid but the Belgian denied this.

Real manager Zinedine Zidane has identified a list of players he wants to buy in the summer and Hazard is among his top priorities. Provided Real do manage to sign Hazard, it would be highly beneficial for them next season.

Hazard urges Hudson-Odoi to stay humble

Chelsea star Eden Hazard feels that Callum Hudson-Odoi is a great player but he should maintain a sense of humility if he is to improve.

Despite being just 18, Hudson-Odoi has managed to make 20 appearances for Chelsea this season, a number which people think is less. The winger has scored 5 goals and has provided as many assists. Hudson-Odoi is touted by many to be one of the best players in Europe in the future and has done pretty well for Chelsea so far.

Hudson-Odoi made his first Premier League start in Chelsea’s match against Brighton and even scored a goal.

Speaking about Hudson-Odoi, Hazard jokingly said that he was better than the winger when he was 18 before giving a serious opinion on the teenager. Hazard said, “[I was] better I think! I don’t need to talk. If he wants to ask me something, I will tell him, no problem, but he is a great player already. I am not surprised.

Since day one he trained with us, he had great skills. If he wants advice, I can teach him, but you know he has everything already. I think the guy was waiting to start a game in the Premier League, but he is ready. You can see the way he is taking the ball. He is playing with a lot of confidence. He is still young and can improve, of course, but he is already very good. I think he was happy to play today. You know when you are young you just play, and sometimes you try and miss, but the good thing is to give freshness in the team.

I think Callum can play three games. He can run, he has the legs for 90 minutes. At 28 we are a bit tired at the end, but I think he is still young. As I said, he can still improve but he is in a good team to learn, and we are happy to help him.

I told him if he stays humble at first, for me it is the best thing, to stay humble. Work in training, score goals, and then be happy on the pitch. He can go very far. I was not listening to everything [people said about me]. Then I think my family also helped me to stay humble. In football that can happen very quickly, you can be at the top in two months, and then in two months, everyone can forget about you. But I think if you keep your feet on the floor and train…

I think for him it is easy because the players he has around him are quite humble, so if we were all thinking we are the best, for him, it could be hard to stay humble. But he is intelligent and has a family that cares for him.”

After impressing against Brighton, Hudson-Odoi will hope to put in another strong performance in Chelsea’s next match against West Ham on Monday.

Gary Linekar Predicts Big England Future For Chelsea Star

Gary Linekar expressed his pleasure at seeing both Callum Hudson-Odoi and Phil Foden receive their first Premier League starts for their respective clubs.

Maurizio Sarri surprised plenty of Chelsea fans with his team selection for the fixture against Brighton & Hove Albion on Wednesday. The Italian finally gave the teenage winger a place in the starting XI after an entire season of starting Willian and Pedro in the spot.

And as per the expectations of many, Hudson-Odoi outclassed the Brighton defence with his speed, skill and attacking quality.

The 18-year-old took on the opposition defenders at will and delivered scrumptious balls into the box, one of them leading to the opening goal by Olivier Giroud. It was a complete performance from the youngster who linked up with both Eden Hazard and the French striker brilliantly in the final third.

This also came right after his first start for the England national team against Montenegro. Linekar in awareness of the future of the Three Lions, tweeted, “Good to see both @Calteck10 and @PhilFoden start a Premier League for the first time on the same night. I fancy they’ll start a lot of games together… in a white shirt.”

Hopefully, Blues fans can expect to see more of Hudson-Odoi in the starting lineup after this week’s performance.

Maurizio Sarri’s Opinion On 22-Year-Old Chelsea Defender

Maurizio Sarri's Opinion On 22-Year-Old Chelsea Defender

After months of only making sporadic appearances for Chelsea, Andreas Christensen made his 4th Premier League start of the season against Brighton & Hove Albion to draw massive praise form the manager.

The Dane saw his team through a 3-0 clean sheet win over the Seagulls on Wednesday to record his 20th game of the season. It has been a bit of a shock for the 22-year-old to get reduced to a second-string option after being a guaranteed started under Antonio Conte last term.

However, David Luiz’s distribution abilities have deemed him to be a much better fit into Maurizio Sarri’s style of play. The only positive in this scenario could be the professionalism shown by Christensen.

His days on the bench has not demotivated him one bit from expressing his best self when given the chance. And he did exactly that at the Stamford Bridge to keep his team in the top-four race.

While addressing the centre-half, Sarri said, “I have to say another thing. We are talking about Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ruben Loftus-Cheek, but I was impressed by the performance of Christensen.

“I want to speak also about him. In the last period, Christensen has played five or six matches really very well.”

Eden Hazard has teased Tottenham over their lack of silverware as the race for the top four heats up.

Hazard said, “I think Tottenham, for two or three years, have been one of the best teams in England,” said Hazard, who has also won the Europa League, FA Cup and EFL Cup during his time at Stamford Bridge.”

“That is for sure. I don’t like that, to be fair – we are Chelsea, and it is a big derby against them – but we have to accept it. For the Premier League it is good: a new stadium, they have top players.”

“But, in the end, you know at Chelsea we have won a lot of trophies, and they have not. So I hope this continues. People are not talking about Chelsea for the top four and I like that,” said the Belgium forward.”

“We are quiet, in fifth or sixth, and then we can just be ready for the next game. We want to go game after game. We have hard matches coming up against Liverpool and Manchester United, but Chelsea is a top club.”

“We like this challenge so we will go to these teams and try to win because, at the end, we want top four.”

Chelsea chairman Bruce Buck has reassured the fans that the Blues owner Roman Abramovich remains thoroughly invested in the club.

“Everything he’s doing reaffirms his commitment to Chelsea,” Buck told Sky Sports News. “We hear from him several times a day and he’s talking to us about players, commercial activities and our good causes. So I would say he’s committed to Chelsea.”

Speaking on Abramovich’s donation to the Imperial War Museum’s new Holocaust Galleries, which will open in 2021, Buck said, It was his idea and he’s checking in with us regularly as to how it’s going and what we’re doing and what effect we’re having, so yes it’s very important to him.”

We had a couple of incidents and we were very unhappy with it, particularly since the club now is very focused on a project thanks to the impetus from Roman Abramovich of tackling anti-Semitism,” said Buck. “We just wanted to make it clear to those very few fans who are acting inappropriately that we have a very strong position on this issue.”

“I think the Chelsea supporter base is reflective of society generally and I think we’ve seen in the last few years a rise of incidents relating to anti-Semitism and that’s reflected in our fan base.”

“That’s the main reason why we have this project. We’ve got to do our share to do something about it. We’ve got to investigate all of these issues and punish and deal with people appropriately,” Buck said.

Chelsea put out an interesting performance last night against Brighton and Hove Albion and the players performed adequately to give the home team a 3-0 win.

Also Maurizio Sarri, who has come under intense criticism from the Chelsea fans in the last few months due to selection and team line ups, got support from the Stamford Bridge faithful as he gave starts to Callum Hudson-Odoi, Ruben Loftus-Cheeka and Andreas Christensen; all Chelsea products in the process.

The natural result of this line up saw the Chelsea fans support Sarri’s team in full voice which was made easier as the Blues cruised to a comfortable home win. What helped matters even more was the assist from Hudson-Odoi on his full league debut and the goal from Loftus-Cheek.

“In this moment of the season it is more important the result but we played very well with the right intensity and enthusiasm,” Sarri added. “We scored three wonderful goals. Tonight the atmosphere was wonderful. The fans helped the players for 90 minutes. I am really very happy and I want to say thank you to all our fans.”

Chelsea racked up a convincing win over Brighton & Hove Albion on Wednesday night through goals from Olivier Giroud, Eden Hazard and Ruben Loftus-Cheek but it was not the ay of the three, the Blues fans were raving about after the game.

Callum Hudson-Odoi was a surprise name in the starting lineup and within minutes from the opening whistle, the youngster proved to everyone why he deserves to be there on a regular basis.

Other than terrorizing the Seagulls backline from the right flank, the England international assisted Giroud for the first goal. He took on a Brighton defender and then drilled in a grounded cross towards the Frenchman who guided the ball into the back of the net.

After the match, Giroud said, “It was a good cross and a good finish. The keeper was on the ground so I put it in the air. I was happy for the team and myself.”

When speaking about his serviceman, the 31-year-old forward added, “I’m not surprised (about Hudson-Odoi). He’s improving. He’s got huge potential. I’m sure he will become a top, top player. He needs to play in more games but it’s coming. He’s a good player and a good man in the dressing room. England can be happy to have him.”

“When I’m on the pitch I try to help my team to win and try to score when I have an opportunity. We need to keep this up. We’ve shown some great character. We scored nice goals. It’s good for the future. We need the momentum now.”

Talking about Hazard stunning strike, he added, “It was typically what he can do in training – dribbling past one player and shooting. The keeper was a bit unlucky with the goals because Ruben Loftus-Cheek’s goal was top corner.”

Maurizio Sarri has hailed Callum Hudson-Odoi’s full Premier League debut last night and believes that the midfielder can become one of the best in Europe.

“Callum started for the first time in the Premier League but he has played 20 matches or so for us,” Chelsea’s head coach told Sky Sports. “I was sure about him. He played very well, and an assist for the first goal. He defended very well, and for us this is very important. This is very helpful for us.”

“He’s a good boy. Of course, now, he can risk stopping to improve because he can risk thinking that he is a player at 100 per cent, but that’s not true. It’s impossible to be at the top when you are 18. He needs to improve, he can improve, and I want him to improve. He can become one of the best players in Europe.”

“Callum is ready to play in every match, even the most difficult matches. He improved a lot over the season. I am really happy for him. Not only in attack, but in defence. For this team, the future is could be good with Callum.”

Maurizio Sarri Won’t Tweak His Philosophy

Maurizio Sarri Won't Tweak His Philosophy

Maurizio Sarri is not going to change his philosophy despite facing stiff criticism from the supporters.

The Italian manager had a very good start to his Chelsea career but things have changed in the last few months as Chelsea broke out from the top four and also crashed out from the FA Cup following a defeat to Manchester United.

Chelsea survived another scare as they came from behind to defeat Cardiff City 2-1 in the Premier League. Despite not being able to dominate for most of the part Sarri preferred to introduce Olivier Giroud, Eden Hazard and Ruben Loftus-Cheek once again overlooking Callum Hudson-Odoi once again.

His decision to use N’Golo Kante has also been criticised but the Italian manager insists he won’t tweak his strategy to cope up with the current situation. “At the moment we are not playing very well. We need to improve in playing our way of football.

“We are trying to do this but it’s not easy, especially in the first season because we started to work only in the middle of July. At the beginning of August we played the first official match. Then we worked for a couple of weeks and then started to play every three days.

“It is not easy for me to play my football.

“Will I change my philosophy? No, because I need to believe in what I do. Otherwise it is impossible to pass my ideas to the players.”
