Jorginho Plays Down Talks Of Winning Balon d’Or

Jorginho Plays Down Talks Of Winning Balon d'Or

Chelsea midfielder Jorginho is being hyped up to receive the Balon d’Or this year.

As astonishing as that may sound, the 29-year-old has quietly enjoyed a stellar campaign for both club and country.

Now in the quarter-final rounds of the 2020 Euros, about to take on Belgium, Jorginho has been an integral part of Italy’s campaign in the summer tournament. He helped them through qualification and has been a regular presence in midfield in their dominant run to the top this year.

Jorginho was out of favour under Frank Lampard just last year and suddenly, he has become a star under Thomas Tuchel and Roberto Mancini. Italy teammate, Lorenzo Insigne stated that Jorginho deserved to be nominated for Balon d’Or.

“I don’t think about it,” Jorginho said during a press conference at Italy’s training base, Coverciano, via football.london.

“Everything that is happening is the consequence of hard work. My priority is the group and celebrating together with my teammates and friends. This is more beautiful than celebrating alone.”

Could it actually happen? Could we as fans actually see Jorginho lift the golden ball ahead of world beaters like Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe, Erling Haaland or Robert Lewandowski? I assure you, nothing crazier would have happend in football, not even Neymar’s £200m transfer to PSG.

Tiémoué Bakayoko’s agent confirms the midfielder’s future at AC Milan

Tiémoué Bakayoko's agent confirms the midfielder's future at AC Milan
Bildbyran

Tiémoué Bakayoko could join AC Milan on loan in the summer.

The 26-year old midfielder has struggled at Chelsea since his arrival from Monaco in 2017 making only 43 appearances for the West London club.

Bakayoko who has enjoyed a wonderful spell at AC Milan in the past and wishes to rejoin Milan has just a year left on his Chelsea contract.

“Bakayoko had a wonderful experience at Milan, just as the Rossoneri club found a very serious player who left a good memory,” Busiello told Milan News.

“We had a meeting a few weeks ago with the Milan officials who are looking for a player in that position. This is a particular market, in which there’s a need to sell before buying. Beyond Bakayoko, I believe that many hits will be realised later because first the clubs have to place some players before taking others.

“It’s an idea, not so much Bakayoko, but Milan want to do something in that role. Baka left a good memory and he has a good memory of Milan. The Rossoneri have to do something in that position, so we had some normal talk that happens in these situations.”

Kai Havertz Laments Germany’s Missed Opportunities After Euro Exit

Kai Havertz Laments Germany's Missed Opportunities After Euro Exit

Germany suffered a disappointing 2-0 defeat to England, confirming their exit from the Euros.

Kai Havertz started up top alongside Chelsea teammate, Timo Werner and Thomas Mueller.

England shotstopper, Jordan Pickford had an outstanding game at Wembley. He denied Havertz’s volleyed effort in the first half and then also stopped Werner’s close range shot. Mueller had a chance late on in the game to equalize but he struck the ball wide off the target.

“We had some chances after the goal against but we didn’t convert them,” Havertz said.

“A bitter evening. We are all in one boat. We are united. England don’t have a bad team, but you go out in the round of 16 it is disappointing, of course.”

Germany looked overall the passive side, allowing England to control possession and create attacks. Harry Kane and Raheem Sterling rounded up an inspiring win for The Three Lions with two tap-in goals.

Havertz individually performed decently in the tournament. He looked much more fluid in his creative role for Germany. He dropped in deep when required and was very sharp with his distribution. Hopefully, he will be able to replicate this form next season for Chelsea.

Aston Villa Lining Up Tammy Abraham Move After West Ham Drop Out

Aston Villa Lining Up Tammy Abraham Move After West Ham Drop Out

Tammy Abraham won’t be sold to any Premier League side unless they meet Chelsea’s demands.

Currently, such is the case with West Ham United.

The Blues have slapped on a £40m price tag on Abraham which is far too expensive for West Ham. The Hammers would ideally like to bring in someone in the region of £25-30m. Aston Villa seem to also hold an interest in Abraham.

The forward previously spent time at Villa Park, scoring 26 goals for them in 2018/19 while they were still in the Championship. Aston Villa is about to receive a huge boost in cash through the sale Jack Grealish.

If he were to leave for Manchester City, The Villans are tipped to bank over £90m. Dean Smith is bound to reinvest that in some sort of attacking reinforcement. Currently, they have only signed Emiliano Buendia who will likely take up Grealish’s spot. With Ollie Watkins capable of playing from the flanks, Abraham could the ideal man to start up top.

Thomas Tuchel has no intention of starting Abraham despite him being ChelseaTammy’s highest goalscorer last term. The Blues boss is currently looking at superstar additions like that of Erling Haaland or Harry Kane.

Chelsea Up Against PSG For The Services Of Miralem Pjanic

Chelsea Up Against PSG For The Services Of Miralem Pjanic

Chelsea reportedly want Miralem Pjanich from Barcelona.

According to Daily Star, Paris Saint-Germain are offering stiff competition for the veteran’s signature.

Pjanic is understandably unhappy at Camp Nou and would not be opposed to a move away this summer. Ronald Koeman clearly does not favour him after the season we all just witnessed.

It is a bit strange to see because Pjanic was hailed as a world-beater back at Juventus. He developed into one of the most technically proficient players during his time at Serie A. First at AS Roma and then in Turin. Pjanic won plenty of silverware with The Old Lady before he decided to join up Barca’s ranks on a bizarre exchange deal last summer.

The move did not work out and now, he seems to be on the market. Thomas Tuchel wants to bring in an able distributor who can operate from deep. Jorginho has done a decent job this past season but we all know that Chelsea should make improvements.

Pjanic is far more mobile than the Italian and has better vision. He is also a dead-ball specialist. The only hiccup in signing him would be his age. At 31, not many players maintain the same level of effectiveness that they showed before.

Chelsea Leading Race For Sevilla’s Jules Kounde

Chelsea Leading Race For Sevilla's Jules Kounde

Chelsea are reportedly aiming to sign Sevilla defender, Jule Kounde.

Speculation behind his future turned ripe as soon as France exited the European Championship last night.

Kounde has been a subject of interest for plenty of top European outfits. Chelsea reportedly are leading the race as the 22-year-old seeks a new challenge in his career.

“I’m at a great club,” he said ahead of France’s defeat last night to Switzerland. “But obviously, I would like to evolve into a bigger team.

“We will see what the future holds, but it is something in my head.”

Kounde’s Sevilla contract is set to last until June 2024. Manchester United and Real Madrid are also heavily involved in transfer talks, all ready to pay his sizeable release clause.

Thomas Tuchel wants to build on the £200m signings he inherited from last season. He ideally would like to reinforce his midfield and forward roles. After guiding Chelsea to a Champions League title in such a short time, he deserves to be backed in the transfer window.

Kounde could be an influential figure in the backline. He is athletic, versatile and capable of playing in either a back-three or a traditional centre-half partnership.

Kai Havertz Talks Up Chesea Target Harry Kane

Kai Havertz Talks Up Chesea Target Harry Kane

Kai Havertz has hailed England skipper, Harry Kane ahead of Germany’s Wembley tie.

Chelsea are reportedly contending for Kane’s services but Spurs are not interested in selling to a rival.

Havertz said: “He is a top striker who is not a classic and not a false number nine. He’s something in between.

“He picks up the balls from behind, plays deadly passes to the front and is brutally good in the box.

“He has a great shot on goal and a good eye for the spaces. He’s difficult to grab for a central defender because he runs deep, comes short and can shoot.

“It is not for nothing that he has scored and prepared the most goals in the Premier League this season.”

Havertz continued on his struggles in his first full season for Chelsea. He said, “The illness hit me hard.

“It lasted some four to five weeks before I could even think of getting back on to a football pitch. During the time I was ill, I was quite ill, to be honest. And I wish it upon absolutely no one.

“Then the aftermath was difficult, too. I really had to work hard to get back to the pre-Covid fitness levels. You have to live with it.”

He added: “I haven’t really explored London a lot or as much as I would have liked to.

“It really is difficult to do anything in terms of leisure activities. Every three days you have an important match coming up, so there is precious little time to go sightseeing or go for a meal.

“It looks a bit bleak but that’s the way it is. You come home from training and are happy about every hour that you can spend inside your own flat.

“I do hope that later, London will give me much more joy, and I’ll have many, many good London experiences.”

Maguire Hopeful Mason Mount Will Be Fit For Germany Clash

Mason Mount confirms successful vaccination after Euros scare

Mason Mount is still isolating following his contact with Billy Gilmour in a group tie.

Both Mount and Ben Chilwell will have to be ruled fit to appear in the crucial knockout tie against Germany next.

Harry Maguire told ITV: “For sure he’s a fit lad, I think he’s been doing work from a distance and working away from the group. I’m sure he’s been doing a lot of running as well because there’s not much you can do when you’re working away from the group.

“His fitness will be there so I’m sure he’ll be available, well I hope he’ll be available because he’s a big part of the team, as is Ben as well.

“It’s been disappointing for those, we had to make sure we had to beat Czech Republic to put a smile on their faces as I’m sure they were kicking every ball watching it on TV. It’s disappointing, but like I say I’m sure they’ll be available.”

Another Chelsea star who will be featuring for the other side will be Kai Havertz. Speaking about the upcoming game, he said, “Of course, this is a special game for me.

“I’ve played at Wembley at one point or another. It’s a big game for all of us and we’ll do everything we can to win.”

Andreas Christensen Could Save Chelsea Millions

0
Andreas Christensen Could Save Chelsea Millions

Andreas Christensen is in the form of his life currently, playing for his country in the 2020 Euros.

Denmark put aside Wales by a scoreline of 4-0 to progress to the quarter-final stage.

Christensen has been incredible for the Danes so far, and topped it off with a worldly strike against Russia in the final group game. The 27-year-old was mimicking the same standards for Chelsea since Thomas Tuchel took over.

If The Blues manage to sign him to an extension, it might eradicate the need to bring in a new centre-half. On the top of that, Thiago Silva has also extended his stay at Stamford Bridge by one year. Even the Brazilian is performing at the highest level at the Copa America.

“A 22-year-old player, especially a defender, is at the beginning of their career,” Thiago Silva told chelseafc.com.

“Of course that’s true for a forward as well, but a forward is able to play professionally when they are 17 or 18 years old. For a defender, that’s a bit more difficult, you have to have more experience, the responsibility is much higher.

“Forwards have less responsibility. They can do things using intuition. At the back, things are a bit more serious, in terms of positioning.

“I think that the 22-year-old Thiago was a guy who was willing to learn. Even though he had a good season with Fluminense, he still had a lot to learn.

“And the best thing is that I was prepared to learn, that’s what I consider the best thing. There’s no use in knowing that you need to learn if you lack the patience and the comprehension of things, because that doesn’t work.”

“Firstly, it was because of the good performances I’d put in, and due to the confidence that not only I, but all of the defence was giving to our goalkeeper,” he recalls.

“Actually, it was not the fans who came up with that nickname, it was the goalkeeper, Fernando Henrique [dos Anjos].

“He was the one who came up with that nickname after a move from the opposition in which I made a good recovery and was able to prevent them from scoring.

“Then, he looked at me and said ‘Nice one, Monster!’ Then the fans heard that through the microphones behind the goal and started calling me Monstro.”

Mason Mount Himself Cannot Believe How Quickly He Has Flourished

Mason Mount Himself Cannot Believe How Quickly He Has Flourished

Mason Mount was voted as Chelsea’s player of the season for 2020/21.

He is now starring for England in the European Championships, playing a prominent role under Gareth Southgate.

“I’ve learnt a lot,” he told chelseafc.com. “I had never experienced a new manager coming in halfway through the season but Thomas [Tuchel] brought different tactics and had a different look on football. All the boys bought into it.

“For me personally, everything has happened so quick. You don’t have time to pinch yourself or look back at what’s happened. I made my 100th appearance for Chelsea in April and it baffles me how that’s gone so quickly but football is a short career.

“The seasons fly by so you have to make the most of every season and enjoy it, which is always something I try to do. Don’t look too far ahead or too far back, just stay in the moment and try to do the big things in football, which is winning trophies.”

Mount’s fitness levels have also been tremendous to sustain such a long season for both club and country. He continues to elevate his game with ease passing match, constantly adapting to whatever is asked of him.
