Willian Offers Update On His Chelsea Future

Willian revealed that he will remain with Chelsea not matter when the season gets over.

His contract is due to run out in June but Premier League games could be postponed beyond that due to the Coronavirus interruption.

Negotiations broke down with the Brazilian earlier this year. He wanted a three-year commitment at the age of 31 while Chelsea were only prepared to offer him two. Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur immediately got alerted by Willian’s situation and are plotting a free signing this summer.

The winger is fully aware of his situation at West London but he is willing to see out the remainder of the 2019/20 season. He told AP, “I want to give everything for Chelsea until the end like I always did, until the end of my contract, until the end of the league. I have to discuss with the club to see what we are going to do. But for me, from my side, I have no problem to play until the end of the season.”

There is no guarantee as to when Premier League football will resume but the UEFA has given all European countries permission to finish their seasons this year. That means it could barge into the timetable of the following campaign on top of the summer transfer window. Players like Willian, who are about to become free-agents might have to make the decision about staying until the end of skipping town midway.
