Former USMNT striker gives verdict on Chelsea forward Christian Pulisic and him potentially playing for Real Madrid.

While talking to Offers.Bet (h/t Football.London), Freddy Adu shared his views on Chelsea forward Christian Pulisic and whether the player can play for Real Madrid in the future.

Pulisic has not been able to make an impact since arriving at Stamford Bridge. He joined the club in the summer of 2019. The American international has struggled to feature regularly under Lampard, Tuchel, and even Graham Potter.

The 24-year-old is currently in Qatar with USA squad for the World Cup 2022. He is expected to do well for his country. He has only played just over 600 minutes of club football in the first half of the season.

Talking about his lack of game time and potential to play for Real Madrid in the future, here’s Adu (h/t Football.London):

“He hasn’t had a lot of chances with Chelsea. Recently there hasn’t been a massive amount of US players have gotten to play consistently in the Premier League. If Pulisic gets consistent game time and is a regular starter, his game will go a whole new level. Training is one thing, but playing matches is what sharpens your game and takes your game to the next level.“I’d be amazed if he was the first US player to play at Real Madrid. When you think of Madrid it’s the biggest club in the world to a lot of people. He’s good enough, he’s talented enough, it’s just a matter of getting that playing time and once he gets it, he needs to take advantage of it.”

Pulisic has been linked with a move away from Chelsea in and since the summer transfer window. His game time has never taken an upturn even when the Blues have changed managers.

If a good offer comes, the Blues would be right to let him go. His contract with the West London club will end in the summer of 2024 (Transfermarkt). If he has a good World Cup, the club may have an upper hand in terms of extracting a greater value in the player sale.
