Chelsea star Ross Barkley has hyped up the potential and talent of new Chelsea boy Mason Mount.

Mount has been in incredible form this season and has received his first international call up. Barkley who plays almost a similar position has chosen to focus on the positives of it rather than the competition he faces from Mount.

He said, “I believe he will be in the squad 100 per cent when it comes to it. Then it is down to him but I believe he will be [in the England Euro 2020 team] because of how good he is and the things I have seen this season.

“The way he arrives in the box and gets shots away early, it is similar to Lamps. He has a really good technique with how he finishes as well. He is a brilliant player.”

“He is hungry to improve, hungry to score and hungry to help the team in any way he can, if it is out on the left, in the No10 or in a midfield three.”

With English media making the Barkley, Maddison and Mount situation to be another “Gerrard-Lampard” issue where both cannot play together, Lampard has laughed it off saying that the players are smart enough to adapt to different positions.

Lampard reveals why he is patient with his Chelsea team

Frank Lampard has revealed that he is asking his Chelsea team to try a few new things. Hence, the English coach has revealed that he will not be hasty and wait patiently for the team to deliver.

Th results have not been great of late for Chelsea with only 5 points in 4 games but Lampard is not worried.

He said, “I have to be patient because I’m asking for different things in the way we play and our movement of the ball.

“We needed to move the ball quicker because we were taking too much time in possession. We had worked a lot on Sheffield United and their style of play, how we could move the ball to cause them problems but we didn’t do it as I wanted us to do it.

“That was the contributing factor to me feeling we were a bit slow in possession and that gave them opportunities.

“There have been good signs in all our games this season but probably not enough as far as I’m concerned. We’re obviously having a few issues in terms of managing games but that’s on all of us and we need to resolve those issues.”

Fikayo Tomori opens up on the dressing room mood at Stamford Bridge following Sheffield draw

Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori has opened up on the mood in the dressing room following their 2-2 draw against Sheffield United. The Blues ended the game in a disappointing fashion, losing a two-goal lead in the second half.

“We’re all angry because when you’re 2-0 up at home then the game should be safe,” Tomori told the club’s website as he gave an honest assessment of the 2-2 draw.

“We said at half-time that we wanted to up it again but we didn’t do that. We conceded a goal really early on in the second half and it becomes very difficult when you do that. It’s disappointing but we just have to learn from it.”

“This is Chelsea, we’re a big club and there’s a lot of expectations but we’re here to try to meet those expectations.”

“There are high standards and when we fall below those standards then, of course, there will be questions. It’s not always going to be perfect but in games like today, when we’re in such a strong position and then we throw it away, it’s disappointing.”

“I’m here to try and push everyone else in the squad in my position so it was nice to get my full debut. I’m very proud but it would have been even better for us to get the win.”

Chelsea will try and get back to winning ways following the international break when they face Wolverhampton at the Molineux.

Frank Lampard has hailed Tammy Abraham and asked the whole Chelsea unit to pull together to produce better results.

Lampard said: “Delighted with Tammy, delighted with his attitude. He has a desire to score and it’s his all-round game as well. We are working closely with Tammy on little bits of his game where he can be even better. He is very receptive to that and was unlucky not to have three.”

“I would have loved it for him but, at the same time, if he can take a bit of a breather, we can get some work into him, because it is a constant and England will come calling.”

Chelsea were held back at home against Sheffield United last week when they suffered a 2-2 draw.

The Blues took an early lead as they went up 2-0 in the first half thanks to goals from Tammy Abraham. However, the second half was a poor display from the Pensioners as Sheffield took advantage of Chelsea’s weak defensive lapses and secured a two goal comeback out of nothing.

In the aftermath of the draw, the Blues midfielder Ross Barkley has spoken out about the reaction of the people in the dressing room.

Barkley said: “There’s loads of talent in there in the changing room. The players we’ve got are unbelievable but today we weren’t at the level we should be. We didn’t perform well.

“You’ve just got to try and make things happen and we didn’t create enough chances, didn’t hit the target as much as we should have.

“But we all know. We all spoke in the changing room after the game and we all held our hands up. Tammy scored two goals but he can’t win the game on his own.”

Chelsea go into the international break knowing that this team has a lot of potential but will have to work very hard to actually produce results on a weekly basis.

Chelsea Defender To Be Dropped For 19-Year-Old Youngster

Chelsea Defender To Be Dropped For 19-Year-Old Youngster

The time has come for Frank Lampard to reconsider Cesar Azpilicueta’s selection for the first team and the Chelsea boss seems to be doing just that.

Azpilicueta put up yet another disappointing performance against Sheffield United on Saturday which ultimately led to the Blades collecting a point at Stamford Bridge, even though it was directly not his fault.

For some reason, the Chelsea captain has started off the season in unusually poor form. He was given the armband by Maurizio Sarri last season and still has two years left on his contract.

He is still one of the club’s best defenders but his recent performances have been well below par. Seeing the monumental changes Lampard brought with him to Chelsea management, Azpilicueta is likely to be dropped for the younger Reece James.

The 19-year-old is yet to make his Chelsea debut but could be summoned as soon as his ankle injury heals. So far, we have seen the team’s seniors like Willian and Olivier Giroud dropped for Mason Mount and Tammy Abraham, both of whom have been excelling under Lampard.

We can expect to see a similar change in defence in a bid to overturn Chelsea’s fortunes. The Pensioners have only collected 5 points from their first 4 Premier League fixtures this season. If they go on like this, a top-four finish will be a rather difficult task to accomplish. Making the necessary changes early on could help dissolve some of the more transparent problems.

Azpilicueta’s form might also improve with more rest days in between games. The Spaniard has been a constant presence at the Chelsea backline for the past 4 seasons in a row. He has played major minutes under all of the past three managers.

If James picks up much of the workload and offers some competition, Azpilicueta will definitely be more motivated to get back to top shape. His current game gives a distinct picture of mental, if not physical, fatigue.

Chelsea To Secure Defender’s Exit Move To The La Liga

Chelsea To Secure Defender's Exit Move To The La Liga

According to the latest reports, Chelsea are looking to move Abdul Baba Rahman to Spain before the European transfer window closes.

The Blues only have a day left to complete the transaction. A sale would have been the best move but a loan isn’t so bad either.

Rahman has struggled to make an impression on Chelsea after joining the side in 2016. He has been sent out on loan multiple times by the club to FC Schalke and Stade Reims.

Currently, Emerson Palmieri has been manning the Blues left-back post with Marcos Alonso still kept at the club as a backup. It is highly uncertain Baba Rahman will be allowed much playing time, given the type of players Frank Lampard likes to operate with in his team.

The Guardian claims that Real Mallorca are close to securing the services of the 25-year-old. This move will surely be the end of his association with Chelsea since his contract is due to end next summer.

He has only registered 23 appearances and 2 assists for the Pensioners but might find more success in the La Liga. He is still a Ghana international and has the years in front of him to improve.

Tim Cahill heaps praise on Frank Lampard for ‘fantastic’ job

Former Premier League striker Tim Cahill has hailed Frank Lampard for his job at Chelsea. With the Englishman at the helm, the Blues earned their fifth point with a 2-2 stalemate against Sheffield United at the Stamford Bridge yesterday.

Speaking about Lampard’s impact, Cahill said,

“I feel for Lampard a bit after what he has had to deal with,” he said on Match of the Day.

“You look at the injuries, Odoi, Kante, Pedro, Loftus-Cheek, all big characters. And on top of that not being able to sign players.”

“What he is emphasising now with the players is his style and his philosophy. I feel that for his first job in the Premier League, he’s doing a fantastic job.”

“You can see come 60/70 minutes they are conceding goals but I suppose he will fix that within the season.”

Chelsea will gear up to face Wolves at the Molineux following the international break.

Frank Lampard Should Be Happy With Match Draw: Joe Cole

Joe Cole believes Frank Lampard has enough reason to be happy with Chelsea’s Champions League draw.

The Blues are set to play Ajax, Valencia and Lille in the first round of the competition this season.

For now, plenty are questioning Chelsea’s ambitions with their new head coach who is also a club legend and their record goalscorer. While Lampard has shown signs of early promise, his team is far from being a finished product, this weekend’s 2-2 draw against Sheffield being the biggest example.

Joe Cole, another ex-Pensioner is pleased with the club’s Lampard is set to face in the coming months. He told BT Sport, “If you look at the teams it’s difficult but I think what Frank will be happy about is that Amsterdam and Lille is close, it’s not going to be massive travel.

“I don’t think Chelsea’s priority this year is the Champions League, I think it’s get out of the group stage and see what happens. I think he’s going to be quite happy. You don’t want to be having five, six, seven-hour flights, so I think the games we’ve got he will be reasonably happy with.”

Chelsea have so far collected only 5 points from their first 4 Premier League fixtures, their one win being a narrow one against Norwich City. They are due to face Wolves next Saturday at the Molineux Stadium.

Kurt Zouma Racism Abuse Has Provoked Chelsea To Take Strict Actions

Kurt Zouma Racism Abuse Has Provoked Chelsea To Take Strict Actions

Frank Lampard is willing to take strict action against racist abusers by tracking them down.

The Chelsea head coach is not opposed to the idea of seeking help from social media sites after another incident of racism took place on Saturday night.

After Chelsea’s 2-2 draw against Sheffield United, Kurt Zouma was at the end of racist abuses. This is the third incident recorded in the Premier League this season – the prior ones hit out at Marcus Rashford and Tammy Abraham for missing penalties for their respective sides.

When asked if the Blues would meet with social media companies to fight this sort of a situation, Lampard said, “I think we have plans to do that.”

He  continued, “I am probably going over old ground from Tammy. Firstly it is [the responsibility of] the person who does it, whoever is hiding. Then it is on the social media platforms, to give them some accountability to people who register and can be chased down for it. It is important.

“If there is no culpability to anybody then anyone can say anything. I don’t care if it’s racism, calling names, homophobia, sexism, everything. Unfortunately, among society it is out there and it has to be dealt with.”

Earlier this week, Manchester United midfielder, Paul Pogba tweeted out a response after being of the receiving end of racism as well.

“My ancestors and my parents suffered for my generation to be free today, to work, to take the bus, to play football,” wrote the Frenchman. “Racist insults are ignorance and can only make me stronger and motivate me to fight for the next generation.”
