FIFPro’s 55-man 2017 World XI shortlist

On Wednesday, FIFPro have released their 55-man shortlist for their 2017 World XI award.

The list has plenty of names from the Premier League, including players from Man United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham and Liverpool.

Interestingly, nine players make their first appearance on the list.

Those players are Jan Oblak, Samuel Umtiti, Antonio Valencia, Casemiro, Philippe Coutinho, Nemanja Matic, Harry Kane, Romelo Lukaku and Kylian Mbappe.

The big clubs dominate

Five clubs dominate in the list.

Real Madrid have 13 players included in the list from their incredible 2016-17 campaign.

Los Blancos won La Liga, as well as becoming the first team to ever retain the Champions League trophy.

Barcelona and Bayern Munich are the second best represented teams with eight players selected apiece.

Manchester United and PSG, meanwhile, have six players each.

So who didn’t make the cut?
