Kante joined Stamford Bridge in July 2016. Meanwhile, he has not signed a contract extension since 2018.

Chelsea is currently the most popular club in European football. They have strongly built their team and for the next summer, they will now think about Kante who has been a top performer of the Blues in the past 5 years. Kante started his stint with Stamford Bridge in July 2016. Meanwhile, he has not signed a contract extension since 2018. The France international will see his contract expiring in June 2023. It means, he is in his final two years with Chelsea.

Transfer news expert Romano cleared all speculations over it. According to him, Chelsea have not discussed an extension with Konte yet. The club is giving its priority to Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger, who are out of contract next summer.

Talking on The Here We Go Podcast, Romano said: “Many people asking about his contract if it’s agreed if it’s done. At the moment, no. At the moment, it’s not something they’re discussing with Kante. He’s one of the names they have on the list to talk about a contract, but it’s not agreed yet, it’s not at advanced stages yet.

He also added, “They’re really happy with Kante and they will talk about it, but now the focus is Christensen, it’s Rudiger, as they need to resolve the situation and then they will see for Kante and Jorginho what happens.”

Chelsea is showing their full interest in Christensen and Rudiger. The club will first give both an extension in the contract. It’s not mean the Blues will neglect Frenchman. Konte has been a hot property of Stamford Bridge and they will keep their eyes open on Kante.
