Chelsea pursues £80 million double deal for Palmeiras teenage talents

Chelsea Football Club has resumed talks with Brazilian club Palmeiras over a possible mega-deal for teenage talents Estevao Willian and Luis Guilherme, according to reports.

Last summer, discussions between Chelsea and Palmeiras came to a halt, with agreements failing to materialize after initial optimism. This time, however, Chelsea is in need to close the deal, hoping to add to the team with promising talent.

The Blues’ desire comes from a respect for both players’ competence. Estevao Willian, a dynamic left-footed winger who can play on either flank, has been an outstanding performance for Palmeiras, netting three goals in just 14 professional appearances.

Meanwhile, Luis Guilherme, a midfield playmaker known for his creativity and vision, has already amassed 40 appearances for Palmeiras, demonstrating maturity beyond his years.

Palmeiras, keen to capitalize on their prized assets, are reportedly seeking a combined fee of £50 million for the duo, with potential add-ons pushing the deal upwards of £80 million.

With Chelsea’s strong interest, European heavyweights such as Manchester City, Manchester United, Arsenal, and Bayern Munich are also competing for Guilherme’s signature. Similarly, Estevao has drawn the interest of Real Madrid and Barcelona.

With current FIFA laws allowing Guilherme to transfer this summer after turning 18, Chelsea hopes to close both deals quickly. However, Estevao, who turns 18 next April, may have to wait until 2025 to make the move.

As discussions heat up, Chelsea will need to make compelling offers, including guarantees of significant playing time, to stave off competing suitors and retain the abilities of these excellent Brazilian teenagers.
