Top five highest paid Chelsea players 2019

Top five highest paid Chelsea players 2019? Want to find out who the five highest paid players at Chelsea are? Which Chelsea players are the highest paid players at Chelsea?

Chelsea are one of the highest paying teams in the Premier League and in the world. Their wages are astronomical but not all of the players are paid the same. Some are paid better than others. Here we look at the highest paid and thus most valued players by Chelsea.

Also known as The Blues and The Pensioners, Chelsea have spent most of their history in top competitions. The club won their first major competition in 1955 when they won the League Competition.

From the last two decades, Chelsea have been in superb form, winning 15 major competitions since 1997. The Blues are the only club in the history of London to win a UEFA Champions League.

Players like Eden Hazard, Alvaro Morata and Cesc Fabregas are all on high wages but who are the top five highest paid Chelsea players? Well we have the answer.

In 2018/19 a lot of new players came to Chelsea, and with them came high wages. Here are the new arrivals

Top five highest paid Chelsea players 2019

  1. N’Golo Kante: £290,000

The defensive midfielder is the highest paid player at Chelsea FC after signing a new contract this season.

He’s been at Chelsea for the last three years. He won the league with Leicester in his debut season. Then went on to back it up with yet another title win with the Blues. He was also nominated as the PFA player of the year that season. Hailed by some as the best defensive midfielder of the modern game, Kante is a humble soul.
However, Chelsea seem to know his value and have tied him down to a lengthy expensive contract making him the most expensive player in terms of wages at Stanford Brigde. Few can argue with his contribution to the team and the logic behind the numbers.

2. Gonzalo Higuaín – £270,000

He was brought in at the request of Maurizio Sarri. It’s not often enough that you see a manager at Chelsea get his wishes. Conte had to settle, Jose got his wish after proving competitive enough with Torres. However Sarri has been put under pressure now as Chelsea have heavily invested in the 31 year old striker who has never played in England before. However, his goal scoring exploits in Napoli under Sarri means he will get the benefit of the doubt for now.

3. Eden Hazard: £200,000

Perhaps the one contract the Blues want to desperately sort out as soon as possible. They are in need of a magician like Eden who can turn matches on his head and even on his bad day, he pushes the average over-aged Chelsea attack.

He is perhaps one of the finest dribblers in the Premier League but what sets him apart is his ability to playmake while possessing threat enough to go on all the way himself. It is quite a doubt though whether he will stay with the Blues since Hazard is keen on making a jump to join his childhood idol Zidane at Real Madrid.

It is now perhaps an even bigger worry for Chelsea, given that they have been slammed by FIFA with a transfer ban which will leave Chelsea exposed.

4. Kepa Arrizabalaga: £192,000

The world’s most expensive goalkeeper is on a seven year long contract with the club. He was brought in from Athletic Bilbao and has been shown adept enough to adapt his game.
He is settling in the league and still needs to improve with his positioning but his ball playing skills have been a major improvement for Chelsea in goal, something the club needed this season to play Sarri-ball.
His little incident at Wembley has put him under the scanner now and deservingly so. However, let’s hope for all Chelsea fans, he comes along and matures and can become a future leader for the Blues.

3. Cesar Azpilicueta : £150,000

The Chelsea on-field captain has been a major rock at the back. And he has proved himself smart enough to adapt to three different positions. Had to adjust to play as a left back in Mourinho’s season to adapt and did a brilliant job playing out of position. In came Conte and pushed Dave to play as a third centre back and he superseded the regular centre backs in that role. Now with Sarri he has been asked to play as a full back who can keep and rotate the ball out on the right and Azpi, though a little rusty with the attacking side, has once again been solid in defence. He’s the future club captain and deservingly one of the highest earners at the club.
