1. Raheem Sterling: £325,000 – highest paid Chelsea players
Raheem Sterling was the big name in the Man City squad but he recently moved to Chelsea. He had a terrific season with the club and national side. The English international scored four goals in England’s solid campaign at Euro 2020.
The 28-year-old helped his previous club to win the Premier League trophy. Sterling was a standout performer for Manchester City. He could be a top player for Chelsea to fight out with City and Liverpool for the Premier League.
2. Romelu Lukaku: £325,000 – highest paid Chelsea players
Romelu Lukaku has returned to Chelsa from his two-year loan spell at Inter Milan and is expected to leave this summer.
The 30-year-old Belgian forward penned a five-year contract with the Blues in 2021. He was once regarded as one of the world’s best strikers but his form has dipped in the past few seasons.
Juventus are eager to strike a deal with Chelsea for the service of the 30-year-old and willing to pay €40 million for Lukaku.
3. Reece James: £250,000 – highest paid Chelsea players
The Blues academy product made 147 senior appearances for the West London club in all competitions. James signed a new six-year contract with Chelsea, committing to the club until 2028.
He made five appearances so far and is regular under Graham Potter. Chelsea won UEFA Champions League in 2020–21, the UEFA Super Cup in 2021. He made it into the FA Cup finals thrice.
4. Ben Chilwell: £200,000 – highest paid Chelsea players
The former Leicester City man is currently one of the highest paid Chelsea players on the current roster. He missed the World Cup in Qatar due to a hamstring injury. Chilwell signed a new contract with Chelsea until the summer of 2027 earlier this year.
The 25-year-old is an important member of the Chelsea squad but has struggled with occasional injury issues.
5. Wesley Fofana: £200,000 – highest paid Chelsea players
Wesley Fofana is the 5th highest-paid player in the Chelsea squad with a £200,000 salary per week. He signed for Chelsea in the summer of 2022 after making a move from Leicester on a seven-year contract for a reported initial fee of £70 million, plus £5 million in add-ons.
Fofana made his debut for the club in a 2–1 win against West Ham United in the Premier League.
