Viktor Gyokeres responded to the rumours of linking him with a move to West London.
Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres has been on the radar of Chelsea. The Blues have tried a lot to get him on board this transfer window. There were some reports that he was supposed to have a potential £73m transfer to Chelsea in an interview with Portuguese media this week.
Chelsea have fixed their plans for the transfer window. They have been linked with Brentford’s Ivan Toney and Napoli forward Victor Osimhen. Both deals didn’t happen yet.
As per the reports of Portuguese news outlet Record, the Blues were lining up an offer believed to be in the region of £73m for Gyokeres this month.
Sporting Lisbon striker responded to the rumours of linking him with a move to West London. He said, “I don’t think anything about it. I’m here and we have important games, I’m focused on that. There’s a lot of talk on social media and other places, but I’m not focused on that. I don’t think about anything else. I’m here now and I’m 100% focused on this and the club.”
“Yes, but it’s far from over. We can’t enjoy it too much, but it’s been good so far. We’re playing well as a team.”
Gyokeres has been outstanding this season for his club, scoring 22 goals in 25 appearances for Sporting Lisbon. The Portuguese club spent just £17m to sign Gyokeres from Championship side Coventry City in 2023.
