England sensation Jordan Sancho has revealed that watching Christian Pulisic succeed at Bundesliga with Borussia Dortmund at the age of 18 convinced him to leave England for Germany.
The young forward who was a star for the Three Lions in the under 17 FIFA World Cup in India, left Manchester City to get more game time. His move was doubted by many as people felt that he was too young to fit into a new country at this young age.
However, the move has worked wonders for the winger and he is now a part of the national team and a regular for Dortmund.
“The Manchester move from London was okay,” Sancho explained at a Head & Shoulders event. “I was still in England and I knew I could go back home.
“It was a bit further away but I could see the family every three weeks or so. Settling there was not a problem.”
“Dortmund was different. That was a big change, but they have a good history of playing young players and I believed what they said.
“Christian Pulisic was there – he was 18 at the time and was starting every week. I looked at him and felt I could compete with him.”
