Former Spurs player Paul Robinson has tipped Willian to join Tottenham Hotspur this summer.
Willian’s contract extension with Chelsea has been a matter of speculation for months and he has stated that although Willian won’t ‘come cheap’ for Spurs, fans will welcome him at once over to their side.
“Willian will not come cheap wages-wise,” he exclusively told Football Insider. “He’s a player that has a great relationship with Mourinho.
“If he wants to stay in London and Tottenham was an option for him, you would imagine, from what I know, he wants to join Tottenham and they would be his first choice.
“I do not think it would take long for him to win over the Spurs fans. A lot of Spurs fans would take him with open arms because he is a top-class player.”
Willian’s talks with Chelsea was for three years and with his end of the deal spoken upon, there haven’t been any further talks on his contract as of now.
He told Expediente Futebol: “I think it will be very difficult for me to renew because Chelsea offered me two years.
“I asked for three and it ended there.
“We didn’t talk anymore. We didn’t negotiate anymore.”
Willian also just turned down a lucrative offer from Beckham’s Inter Miami, but hasn’t outrightly denied Tottenham yet.
