Liverpool owner reveals a chat with new Chelsea owner Todd Boehly.
The Blues selected Boehly as the club’s preferred bidder and has now gotten the approval from the Premier League and UK Government in completing the takeover.
Boehly will join a host of American owners in the Premier League who are gradually taking over the English top-flight.
The future of Chelsea was always a concern but now there’s a green light from the Premier League and government to proceed with the takeover.
Liverpool chairman Tom Werner reveals his latest conversation with the new Chelsea owner Todd Boehly.
“John Henry and I have known and admired Todd from his association with the Los Angeles Dodgers… I’ve had a couple of conversations with him in the last week. He was just picking my brain. I think he will be good for Chelsea. I know they are working right now on a stadium solution. I think he will prove to be an excellent owner,” Werner said.
