Jorginho lauds Thomas Tuchel for Chelsea resurgence

Thomas Tuchel has been crucial for Chelsea’s upturn in form.

Since taking over as the manager in January, Thomas Tuchel has lifted the Blues back to the top four and is unbeaten since then.

Jorginho was not a regular under former manager Frank Lampard but has been won over by Tuchel as he started 10 games overall since Tuchel’s arrival at the Stamford Bridge.

The Italian midfielder commends Tuchel’s tendency to swap and rotate his players which has kept the entire Chelsea squad on their toes.

“I think that having a starting XI that changes a lot is good for the team,” Jorginho said. “Because that means that we have a lot of high-level players, of great quality, and whoever enters the pitch needs to do their best, to win.

“This ends up making it difficult for the coach to make choices, but I think it’s positive. It increases competitiveness even in training, because we cannot relax; we need to be at our maximum physical level, be concentrated, always up there.

“If you let your guard down, you can stay out of one or two games, because the other players will be focused there.”
