Chelsea are plotting a move for soon-to-be free agent, Sergio Aguero.
Manchester City has announced that the Argentine will be leaving the club after this season.
Foot Mercato believes Aguero could remain in England despite strong interests from Barcelona. He is renowned as a Man City and Premier League legend. Fans love him and he feels settled in the country, since his transfer back in 2011. He has knocked in 257 goals from 384 appearances for the Cityzens.
At 32, he still has the tools to help one of the bigger clubs in England. Manchester United are prime suitors if Edinson Cavani departs after this campaign. Anthony Martial is not performing up to their standards and cannot be depended on solely.
Chelsea are of course, in a strong position too due to their financial backing. Even after spending heavy on Timo Werner and Kai Havertz last summer, they have seen their scoring numbers drop this season. Adding Aguero to the mix could be one way to addressing the gaps in attack.
Thomas Tuchel is bound to demand some changes to the squad as he tried to see out this campaign with a decent result. Many of the players are not exactly suited to his style of football and could be shown the door, come July.
