Joao Felix could return to Atletico Madrid over the summer.

The Blues were expected to sign the Portuguese forward on a permanent deal in the summer but he is tipped to return to Atletico Madrid.

He has scored only three goals in his loan spell since his arrival in January and Chelsea would definitely miss out on signing Felix if they fail to qualify for European places.

His creative playmaking ability and knack for getting into dangerous scoring positions have impressed Chelsea fans.

Former Atletico director Javier Vidales believes the 23-year-old forward could return to Spain and solve his issues with manager Diego Simeone.

“Atleti are a club that works like a family,” he explained to Record. “The coach will not do anything that goes against the will of the club’s leadership.

“The coach decided to loan out Joao Felix with the agreement of the board. Both Simeone and the club’s owners are aligned with a single objective: to make Joao Felix perform better, both in a sporting and a financial sense.

“Simeone wants Joao. The dressing room wants talented players, that’s why they want Joao. Andrea Berta, Atletico’s sporting director, was the one who showed the most that he wanted Joao Felix at Atletico.”
