Chelsea have expressed an interest in Nice defender Jean-Clair Todibo.
Todibo spent three years with the French outfit and established himself as one of the finest defenders in Ligue 1.
But Nice were reluctant to let the defender leave in January after a fruitful first half of the season that has seen them challenging Paris Saint-Germain for the Ligue 1 title.
Todibo has been earmarked as Manchester United’s top target this summer and Chelsea would face stiff competition from other European clubs.
Nice slapped an eye-whopping £52million price tag on him to lure potential suitors away from the Frenchman.
His impressive performances have earned him his spot in the French national team.
Todibo has gone from strength to strength with every season and is regarded as one of the best defenders in the French Ligue 1.
Chelsea are preparing a possible departure for Thiago Silva in the summer who has been a mainstay at the club since his arrival in 2020.
His contract with the Blues expires in the summer and it’s unlikely Chelsea will offer him a contract extension.
Todibo has been considered as one of the very few defenders who can replace the Brazilian veteran in the summer.
