Joachim Andersen have made quite a impression on Premier League clubs during his loan season with Fulham. Even if he wasn’t able to save his side from relegation, Andersen showcased his abilities well enough under Scott Parker.

He arrived from France, with a contract running until June 2024 with Olympique Lyon. His services are deemed to be worth £30m in the current market. Arsenal, Leicester City and West Ham United are also reportedly pursuing the 24-year-old.

Chelsea already have RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech from Ajax – and now they are looking to bring in Declan Rice from West Ham United to add to their defence. The Blues are now looking to streamline and make their defensive side better. So now they have turned their eyes onto a former Chelsea academy graduate – and Mason Mount’s best friend – Declan Rice.

Rice’s fee, however, is not low, it’s a neat £65m and Chelsea is reported to be wanting to sell Jorginho to raise funds for the West Ham defensive midfielder. Chelsea could only offer £50 million, which West Ham rejected.

The former Chelsea youth product is a brilliant defensive midfielder now who can also play as a centre back. He will be a brilliant buy for Chelsea as Declan Rice is a good player.

2. Jules Kounde

Chelsea have drawn links to Sevilla’s Jules Kounde. The 22-year-old has developed into a top centre-back making close to 50 appearances in 2020/21. He is a France U21 international and was previous with Bordeaux.

Sevilla value him at £50m but he could be acquired on a swap deal for Hakim Ziyech. The La Liga side are huge fans of the Algerian and previously even tried to sign him. Kounde’s contract with Sevilla is until June 2024 which means they hold the upper hand in this deal.

1. Kalidou Koulibaly – Top Chelsea Defender Transfer Targets

Kalidou Koulibaly is a centre back and is in huge demand right now. He is being pursued by several clubs right now and Chelsea is definitely one of them. Koulibaly currently plays for Serie A side Napoli. Koulibaly featured in 25 games in Serie A in the 2018-19 campaign –  However, Manchester City seem to be leading the race for now – but with Messi speculated to move to City, the Cityzens might just fall out of this race.

Is Kalidou Koulibaly good?

To be honest the real question is if Koulibaly is good enough for Chelsea. And the answer to that will have to be not yet. However, he does have the potential to become a brilliant player. Manchester City were also hot on his heels.

Chelsea will also have to sell before they buy. They plan to loan out Fikayo Tomori, who needs game time. The duo of Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger it would seem have run down their time at the club. They could be sold in January.

Marcos Alonso has fallen out with Frank and will surely move on in January. As for Emerson, his agent has made it clear that the player could be on his way to Serie A.

Will Chelsea miss them?
