Chelsea’s poor form is also giving them a tough competition to sign Osimhen.

Chelsea may face trouble in signing Victor Osimhen due to financial constraints and no European football. The Napoli striker is heavily linked with the Blues.

Pochettino was considering him as the solution for Chelsea’s attacking issues. Dean Jones spoke to GIVEMESPORT that spending £130 million on him in January is unrealistic.

Chelsea are still keen on signing Victor Osimhen. Dean Jones has issued a reason why their pursuit could fall at the first hurdle. Financial reasons are first on it as they already invested hugely in the previous three transfer windows under the new ownership.

On the other hand, Chelsea’s poor form is also giving them a tough competition to sign Napoli man. They are already in the bottom half of the table and they are going to miss European football once again.

The West London club are currently sitting in 12th place with five wins from 16 Premier League outings. Jones told GIVEMESPORT that the Blues made a grave error by not signing someone to play alongside the Senegalese frontman.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, he said: “He can’t go and spend £130 million on Osimhen in January, and I think that’s what it’s going to take. Chelsea just can’t be doing that. And if they do, then everyone’s going to be in an uproar because it just seems ridiculous that this club can continue to just throw money at everything they want to and have no repercussions from it.

“And you have to contemplate now that Chelsea aren’t going to be in the Champions League next season again. That will be two seasons of missing out on the top table of European football and that means they’re bringing in less money and that means that everything’s judged differently in terms of your spending.”
