According to reports, Chelsea will make a move Ajax winger David Neres provided their two-window transfer ban is uplifted. FIFA imposed a two-window transfer ban on Chelsea regarding the signing of young players in February and Chelsea appealed to FIFA in March. However, Chelsea lost their appeal and their ban was upheld.

Chelsea have not given up hope and will try to convince FIFA to uplift their ban. Provided they succeed in doing so, Chelsea will then try to sign David Neres.

Neres has been an integral player for Ajax this season, amassing 12 goals and 15 assists in 50 appearances across all competitions as Ajax managed to win their 34th Eredivisie and 19th KNVB Cup.

Neres’ performances for Ajax saw him receive his maiden international call-up in March. The winger has made Brazil coach Tite’s squad for the upcoming Copa America in his homeland.

With Eden Hazard most likely leaving for Real Madrid in the summer, David Neres could be an ideal replacement for Hazard at Chelsea. However, Chelsea aren’t the only club interested in signing Neres as Arsenal, Liverpool and PSG are also interested in signing him.
