Rio Ferdinand has backed Chelsea for the Premier League title next season.
The former Man United defender believes that the Blues look a different beast under new manager Thomas Tuchel and it’s a possibility that the German coach will secure both FA Cup and Champions League in his first few months.
Despite Man City’s dominance in the top-flight, Chelsea is tipped to secure the Premier League crown next season.
The Blues have spent over £200million on recruitments last summer and Ferdinand believes Werner will set the league on fire next season.
“Have you seen Chelsea’s stats by the way? Chelsea are my team to win the league next year,” Ferdinand said in a video on his YouTube channel.
“Since Tuchel has come in, they are top of almost every category: goals conceded, chances created. What he’s done going in there, you can do nothing but give him applause man. It’s unbelievable.
“Werner will bang. Werner will bang next year. It’s his first year in the country. People are forgetting he’s settling in – during a pandemic by the way. This isn’t the easiest settling-in period.”
