Chelsea rejected multiple offers for Armando Broja

Armando Broja is expected to start after this return from injury.

The Albanian international tore a cruciate ligament in his right knee during a friendly against Aston Villa in Abu Dhabi in December.

He came off the bench in the weekend’s defeat at home to Aston Villa but struggled to make any significant impact.

His return from injury is a boost for Pochettino as he seeks to address his team’s problem in front of goal.

Alongside Broja, Nicolas Jackson is the only natural forward in the current Chelsea lineup.

Transfer pundit Fabrizio Romano said West Ham, AC Milan and some other club were keen on signing the Chelsea academy product this summer.

“We saw Armando Broja return to the squad after injury and he could have an important role to play this season.

“There were verbal approaches from AC Milan, West Ham and one more club this summer for Broja. But Chelsea decided not to entertain those proposals as they wanted to trust Armando, with the board and Pochettino on the same page.”
