Chelsea are well and truly taking a new direction for their future.
The Blues have enjoyed unrivalled success in the last 15 years in England but have had to spend a bucket load of money for that.
However, the Blues hierarchy are exploring a new style of football. It has probably in place for the last couple of seasons and has come to full effect, albeit somewhat forcefully, this season.
It is the philosophy to build a team around young players by scouting and training them.
The system is complicated and risky but is rewarding in it sown way as it costs less and adds more chemistry and value to a team.
Here are Chelsea this season under Frank Lampard having brought on the likes of Callum Hudson-Odoi, Tammy Abraham and Mason Mount to name a few players.
Lampard’s team has mainly been composed of youngsters. The recent exploits of Billy Gilmour has been testament that the system can work.
It seems now Chelsea are more than ever determined to work it out and their next transfer target has been identified as VFL Bochum, the Bundesliga 2 sides young French centre back Armel Bella-Kotchap.
The 18 year old defender has raised plenty of eye brows in Germany and Chelsea are tracking his progress.
He is being tracked by other clubs as well and is valued at £6.5million currently. Chelsea have reportedly already made contact with the necesarry parties and look set to beat the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester City to swoop him up.
