Real Madrid, Barcelona and Man City desperate to sign Billy Gilmour

After witnessing the 16 year old’s stunning performance in the FA Cup fifth round against Liverpool, these three major European clubs are rather impressed by the Chelsea startlet and want to sign him.

Gilmour was crowned man of the match in the clash against Liverpool, where the Blues won 2-0. Gilmour was integral in deflecting and defending the ball, tackling even Sadio Mane – an experienced world class level player.

Out of these three, Man City’s Pep Guardiola reportedly seems to be most keen on acquiring the youngster. In fact, Pep was reported to rather ‘infatuated’ with Billy Gilmour after watching him play on Wednesday.

Chelsea has bought Gilmour from Rangers in 2017, paying a initital development fee of £500,000 and now he is prepped as a first team player. Although only 1.7 metres tall, he has had 6 appearances since he joined last August. And he is definitely improving by the day and no wonder has attracted so much attention.

Frank Lampard believes that although short in stature and build, Gilmour has fine footballing skills which will become even better with more experience and age.

“I have absolute trust in Billy,” said Lampard after the Liverpool win.

“If he’s small in stature he’s huge in personality, and he’s also huge in talent.

However, Guardiola wants him to come to City as soon as possible – as close as the next transfer window in the summer, and willing to lead the race into signing Gilmour over to his side.
