Chelsea demands £40m for outcast Romelu Lukaku

Chelsea tells Inter Milan they want £40m for the Belgian forward.

Lukaku struggled with injuries throughout the 2022/23 campaign and managed to score only 14 goals in all competitions.

He missed an opportunity to equalise against Man City in the Champions League final last month.

According to reports, Mauricio Pochettino doesn’t include the forward in his plans and wants to offload him in the summer window.

The Blues wants to sell the former Man United striker who joined from Inter for £97.5m two years ago and has been a major disappointment.

Inter Milan made an initial bid of £26m which was rejected by Chelsea as the club demands £40m for Lukaku.

The 30-year-old forward still has three years left on his Blues contract but it’s unlikely he will continue at Stamford Bridge.

Lukaku earlier has rejected a lucrative offer from Al-Hilal last month as he was determined to play in Europe.

It remains to be seen whether Inter Milan can match Chelsea’s asking price due to their financial constraints.
