Chelsea deal with Wesley Fofana and Mason Mount injury concerns

Fofana didn’t appear in Potter’s XI since October after going off with a knee injury against AC Milan.

Chelsea is going to deal with more injuries ahead of the Premier League resumption from Boxing Day. Wesley Fofana is the most recent entry along with Mason Mount.

Wesley Fofana is getting ready for scans on his knee after coming off during Chelsea’s friendly fixture with Brentford. Graham Potter didn’t pick Mason Mount due to a slight injury.

Chelsea faced Brentford at their Cobham training base on Tuesday afternoon. The Blues overcame Thomas Frank’s side 5-1 win, thanks to a hat-trick from Kai Havertz.

Graham Potter would deal with Fofana’s injury who was reported to come off with a knee injury. The 22-year-old is set for scans to learn the extent of the setback.

Fofana didn’t appear in Potter’s XI since October after going off with a knee injury against AC Milan in the Champions League. The injury is not so big as the player will mark their return later this month.

The 22-year-old updated on Instagram on Tuesday, writing: “Nothing bad champion in not even one month we’re back to break everything.”

Meanwhile, Mason Mount was also sidelined against Breentford due to a ‘slight calf strain’, according to reports. Chelsea head would not risk the England international, who returned at the weekend from World Cup duty.
