N’Golo Kante, a midfielder for Chelsea, is close to signing for Barcelona
Barcelona is nearing a pre-contract agreement to sign Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante in January. Kante’s contract at Stamford Bridge expires in the summer. He was not a member of the French team during the World Cup because he had a long-term injury in August.
The midfielder can therefore begin negotiating a pre-contract deal with international teams as of January 1 in accordance with the regulations, which would allow him to join the team in the summer. Barcelona appears to be nearing that accord.
Kante, a reigning Premier League champion from Leicester City, joined Chelsea in 2016. He became the first player to win the English top division twice while playing for separate clubs when he won the league in his debut season in west London.
Since then, he has been a fantastic team player, helping Chelsea win the Europa League in 2019 and the Champions League in 2021, among other titles. However, the 31-year-situation old’s has not improved over the past 18 months due to injuries. His availability issues from last season have persisted this season, if not gotten worse.
He will unquestionably depart Chelsea as a club legend if he signs with Barcelona in the summer. He will join Marcos Alonso and Andreas Christensen from the current Blues team at the Catalan club.
