Chelsea considering January move for Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale

Chelsea are looking to take advantage of Ramsdale’s situation.

Chelsea are planning to find a goalkeeping option in January. They can move for Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale amid concerns over Robert Sanchez.

Ramsdale is one of the best goalkeepers in the Arsenal side. He arrived at the Emirates from Sheffield United in the summer of 2021. He has kept 30 clean sheets across 80 appearances.

The 25-year-old is not the priority of Mikel Arteta. He lost his place to summer signing David Raya. Ramsdale has played in just one of Arsenal’s last eight games across all competitions.

Former Sheffield United goalkeeper was initially dropped by Mikel Arteta after a Premier League win over Manchester United at the beginning of September.

Raya has conceded six goals in six games and he was pretty down in Arsenal’s previous game against Chelsea last weekend. Raya seems to be Arteta’s preferred number-one goalkeeper.

Ramsdale is now targeting a spot in England’s 23-man squad for Euro 2024. According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Chelsea are looking to take advantage of Ramsdale’s situation and make a move for the goalkeeper in the New Year.

Sanchez only joined Chelsea in the summer from Brighton, penning a seven-year contract until June 2030. The Spaniard has since started all 11 games for Pochettino’s side in all domestic tournaments.
