Chelsea eyeing AC Milan star Mike Maignan for summer transfer window
Chelsea Football Club will be preparing for a dramatic move in the summer transfer window, eyeing AC Milan shot-stopper Mike Maignan.
According to Fichajes, the Premier League club has an interest in acquiring the French goalkeeper to help improve their defensive line-up.
Maignan, who has been a revelation since joining AC Milan in 2021, has drawn interest from several major teams in Europe, including Spanish giant Real Madrid. The 28-year-old has been crucial to AC Milan’s progress this season, maintaining 14 clean sheets in 37 trips.
Maignan, known for his lightning-quick reflexes and great distribution, has proven himself as one of the world’s best goalkeepers. His outstanding efforts have not gone unnoticed, with Chelsea evaluating him as an option for incumbent goalkeeper Robert Sanchez, whose play has come under investigation.
While AC Milan initially desired a high sum for Maignan, current events suggest the price may have decreased giving Chelsea a promising potential.
However, becoming Maignan’s signature will not be easy, as AC Milan is seemingly preparing a contract extension for the amazing goalkeeper that will hold him down until 2028.
