According to reports, Manchester United and Chelsea are the current front-runners to sign Inter Milan right-back Denzel Dumfries in the summer
Man Utd and Chelsea appear to be the most likely destinations in a possible €40 million deal for the Netherlands international, who has excelled in Serie A and appears to be someone who would thrive at a top Premier League side, according to Inter Live.
Dumfries has contributed to five goals and six assists for club and country thus far this season, demonstrating his ability to be an upgrade over Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Diogo Dalot at Old Trafford as a right-side attacking outlet.
The question of whether he would feature regularly for Chelsea, who already have Reece James and will welcome Malo Gusto to Stamford Bridge in the summer, is less certain.
It will be interesting to see what transpires with United, Chelsea, or other clubs in the coming weeks and months, but Dumfries for €40 million would undoubtedly be seen as a tempting option.
Although Inter would prefer not to sell their best players, they have recently had to deal with financial difficulties and may not have much of a choice if a team chooses to increase their interest in Dumfries.
