Chelsea agree a deal for Juventus star

The Turin side have accepted Blues offer

Chelsea are expected to overhaul their side this summer after an underwhelming campaign last season. They finished 5th in the league and will miss the Champions League in the upcoming season.

Though Blues ended the campaign on a bright note after defeating Manchester United in the FA Cup final. But they need reinforcements in key areas to compete for Silverware in the upcoming season.

They have been behind in the transfer window compared to other Premier League rivals as they are still yet to clarify their managerial situation. Antonio Conte remains the head coach despite being heavily linked with a summer exit.

But the English side feel confident that they will land former Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri and want to provide him with new additions. They have accelerated their transfer plans this week after direct talks with the 59 year old.

The 59 year old has requested Juventus star Daniele Riugani at Stamford Bridge. He has previously worked with him when he was the manager of Empoli and he was on the loan from the Turin Side.

He even tried to sign the 23 year old for the Partenopei but the Serie A champions blocked the transfer. He is expected to have a bright future and is regarded as one of the most promising centre-backs of his generation.

He made his debut for the Serie A giants in 2015 and has impressed with the limited game-time he got. He has been trying to nail down a spot in the first team but has seen his playing time increase over the past year, making 26 appearances in all competitions.

Juventus have accepted Chelsea’s offer of €40 million for Rugani, reports Mediaset Premium.

With seven caps already under his belt for the national side and having represented them at every level since u17, the Italy International certainly has the pedigree to be a world class defender. At such a young age he also can grow and reach his massive potential in England.
