Chelsea are in talks with Sassuolo to sell Kenedy after the winger failed to impress new boss Frank Lampard, according to reports in Italy.

Frank Lampard is continuing to reshape Chelsea and with the transfer window still open across Europe, departures are expected.

The Brazilian winger Robert Kenedy is aware that he will hardly play at Chelsea and his intention is to leave the club in order to improve as a player. He has never been able to get himself a place in the Chelsea side.

During the last season, he played on loan at Rafa Benitez’s Newcastle, but he did not make his mark there and the Magpies decided not to buy him. As a result, he returned to Stamford Bridge.

Now, Serie A side Sassuolo are reportedly interested in a late summer transfer window swoop for the Chelsea want-away player after an injury to left-back Rogerio. According to Sky Italia, Kenedy has been identified as a player who could replace the injured man in their front line.

Rogerio starred at the Serie A side during his two-year loan spell from Juventus, before making his move permanent this summer.

Whilst, the 23-year-old Kenedy, who is a left winger back can play left back as well, has made just 27 appearances for the Blues in his four years spent in west London.
