Chelsea are still interested in signing Jean Michael Seri

The Blues will not make a move until their managerial situation is sorted

Chelsea are expected to overhaul their side this summer after an underwhelming campaign last season. They finished 5th in the league and will miss the Champions League in the upcoming season.

Though Blues ended the campaign on a bright note after defeating Manchester United in the FA Cup final. But they need reinforcements in key areas to compete for Silverware in the upcoming season.

They have been behind in the transfer window compared to other Premier League rivals as they are still yet to clarify their managerial situation. Antonio Conte remains the head coach despite being heavily linked with a summer exit.

The Italian has been linked with an exit for quite some now after a decline in club’s performances during the last campaign. The coach’s future has been under scrutiny since before the season began, as he negotiated a pay-rise without extending his contract and complaints over the club’s transfer policy.

But the club feel confident that they will land former Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri and want to provide him with new additions. They have accelerated their transfer plans this week after direct talks with the 59 year old.

The English side have identified their midfield as one of the areas they need to strengthen this summer and have been linked to host of players including their long term target Jean Michael Seri.

The Ivory Coast International joined the Nice from Pacos de Ferreira for a transfer fee of  €1 million in 2015. He has been a mainstay in the midfield since then and is considered one of the best midfielders in the Ligue 1.

The 26 year featured regularly for the Ligue 1 giants last season, scoring 2 goals and assisting 6 while making 43 appearances all competitions.

Chelsea remain interested in Jean Michael Seri, but will not make a move for the player until their managerial situation is sorted, SSN understands.

The midfielder has also attracted attention from clubs like Arsenal, Manchester City and Fulham. His preference is also join the Premier League in this transfer window.

The Ivorian has a £35 million release clause which expires on July 15 and still has one year left on his contract.
