Why Chelsea should buy Zaha

Wilfried Zaha showed Monday night exactly why he is such a sought after player.

In a match where Brighton had Crystal Palace locked away and Roy Hodgson’s men were playing second fiddle, it was Zaha’s cameo that swung the game away from the seagulls.

“With the way the game was going, he is the one you are looking to, he is the one who is capable of turning the game on its head and that is what he did,” Dann said.

“That is why he is so important to us and it changed the game. From then on we looked like we could maybe have gone on and nicked it in the end, which is strange to say because we didn’t play well at all.”

Despite Zaha’s heroics however, Dann remained worried about Palace defence despite former Chelsea captain Cahill’s presence.

Centre-back Dann added: “I think until a couple of weeks ago the squad looked strong, especially in certain areas.

“At the back with five centre-backs, but we only had one full-back on either side, so there are areas that we probably do need to strengthen.

“We’ve got away with certain things over the start of the season, being lucky that people have been available.

“At the same time we’re in a good position and there are probably places where the manager and chairman (Steve Parish) will look at and think we need to add.”

Coming back to Zaha, Chelsea will be in the transfer market in January.

The Blues have an exciting young team which can break down teams but at times, that individual spark is missing and it is the signing of Zaha which can add that extra weightage to our front line!

  1. I think Chelsea should spend their money wisely. Two players who can make a difference are better than four or five who can’t. Zaha certainly falls into the first category and would probably thrive in Lampard’s dynamic system. Sell Barkley (who shouldn’t have been bought in the first place), Giroud, Willian and Pedro (if they want to play more football). Get the checkbook out and give Palace what they want. Get a youngish striker who has more to his game than goals and room for development. It doesn’t always have to be the obvious names, either. I’m sure there are a few rough diamonds in Eastern Europe if you look hard enough.

  2. Zaha could be the best front line player for this January that we Chelsea fans needed. Lampard should do all he can to have him on this transfer.

  3. Willian proved again today that he is still more than capable of winning games .Why would you want to let him go and replace him with Zaha who had the chance to prove himself at Man U and failed miserably. We have plenty of young players that can run rings round him.
