Mason Mount reportedly wants an exit this summer.

The 24-year-old Chelsea academy graduate has entered the final 18 months of his contract with talks of an extension paused until the end of this season.

The Blues intend to retain their star player over the summer when Mount will only have one year left on his contract.

Many top Premier League clubs are keeping an eye on his situation including Liverpool and Newcastle United.

The midfielder has garnered over 200 appearances over the past four seasons with the West London club.

Pundit Stan Collymore believes both Mount and Newcastle United would be a perfect fit for each other.

“Personally, I would be very surprised if he left,” Collymore said to Caughtoffside.

“He’s one of their own and has the potential to finish his career as a bit of a legend like John Terry and Frank Lampard, but, obviously, with 18 months left on his deal and no agreement to renew it yet, it is possible that he leaves in the summer.

“If the lad is seriously considering his future, a switch to Newcastle would be absolutely perfect for him. I wonder if Howe and the Magpies’ hierarchy feels the same way.
