Andreas Christensen is expected to join Barcelona as a free agent.

The Danish international spent the last ten years with the Blues and won the Champions League, Europa League and Club World Cup during his time at the club.

Since his arrival from Brondby in 2012, he has made around 161 appearances and was reportedly close to signing a five-year contract worth £140,000 a week last summer with the Blues.

Thomas Tuchel is reportedly unhappy with the manner of his departure and Christensen reflects on his memories at Chelsea.

“Having spent 10 amazing years at this club, I felt now was the right time for a new beginning for me and my family,” the defender said on Monday. “Mentally, the last few months have been tough as it’s not been an easy decision to leave this club and the fans.

“I’m not the most talkative person so sometimes people don’t understand how much the club and the fans mean to me.

“I will miss the players, staff and everyone here. I wish the best for the club and the fans in the future.”
