Newcastle really intrigued by possibility of signing Chelsea winger this month

The Chelsea star is finding himself out of favour at Stamford Bridge under Graham Potter.

Transfer insider Dean Jones has informed GIVEMESPORT, Newcastle United are ‘really intrigued’ by the possibility of signing Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech this month.

The in-form London club have had just one arrival in the winter transfer window so far, with youngster Garang Kuol coming in from Central Coast Mariners before being loaned out to Heart of Midlothian.

According to a fresh report of the Telegraph, Newcastle boss Eddie Howe has planned something for the window and he picked out some players for the potential targets. Multiple Chelsea players are also in his mind.

Hakim Ziyech is a potential target for Newcastle who is finding himself out of favour at Stamford Bridge under Graham Potter. Not just Ziyech, even Conor Gallagher and Ruben Loftus-Cheek have also been linked with a switch to the Magpies.

Everton forward Anthony Gordon is also in Newcastle’s plans, according to The Daily Mail. The Magpies are aiming for Champions League qualification.

Hamik Ziyech was signed for Chelsea from Ajax for £39m according to The Guardian back in 2020.  The Morocco international wants a new home in London and Newcastle is the club where he can find regular games.

Jones told GMS: “I think Hakim Ziyech is the one to take most seriously at this stage. Newcastle are really intrigued by the possibilities he could bring to them; he’s obviously available, he’s ready for a new challenge.“

The 29-year-old has made 14 appearances in all competitions for the Blues, providing one assist against Crystal Palace in a 1-0 triumph.
