Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has been charged with misconduct after he was sent off against Burnley this week.

Throughout the match, Sarri argued with the match officials and the Burnley bench. During the final minutes of the match, referee Kevin Friend sent Sarri to the stands after the Italian stepped out of his technical area to argue with the officials.

Chelsea eventually drew the match 2-2. Following the match, Chelsea lodged a complaint against a staff from the Burnley who is believed to have called Sarri a ‘s*** italian’.

Maurizio Sarri has till Friday to respond to the charges. Provided Sarri is proven guilty, he will face a fine.

Chelsea are currently 4th in the Premier League table with 67 points. Their next match is against Manchester United.
