Mauricio Pochettino’s influence could bring Spanish wonderkid to Stamford Bridge

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino is believed to be interested in signing Barcelona’s gifted young midfielder Gavi. According to recent sources, Chelsea may have an opportunity to recruit the Spanish prodigy due to Barcelona’s financial difficulties, which may force them to give up some of its assets.

Chelsea has been connected to Gavi on multiple occasions. In fact, the club allegedly had previous contacts with the player’s representatives, showing a significant interest in the player’s skills. Pochettino’s admiration for Gavi is well known, and the manager has openly voiced his admiration for the young midfielder.

He told AS: “He is a tremendous talent, without limit. He is a young boy who has to continue learning, but with the generosity and humility that he has on the field he will surely do it.

“Travel 13 kilometers! He is the one who travels the most in the games. That speaks of his character, of what we may see in the future.

“Football is not about running, but if you have the ability to do it you can improve and use space better.”

Pochettino is known for his love for hardworking players, and he looks for individuals who have outstanding work rates, which matches Gavi’s playing style. Conor Gallagher of Chelsea is a perfect example of this theory in action. Gallagher has proven himself as a Premier League fixture, even wearing the captain’s armband on occasion, showing his exceptional work ethic in a midfield alongside Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo.

With Pochettino’s influence rising at Chelsea following his strong start, it’s unclear whether the club will make a move for Gavi, but it’s apparent that the young Spaniard has caught the manager and the club’s attention.
